I am about to embark on what is for me a major project and will be posting in a later thread.  An introduction:  This project will involve the building of a cabinet that will have to hold 2000 plus lbs., two complimentary cabinets with a wet bar, and whatever my wife tells me to do.  The woods seen will be paduak and paduak veneer.

My question regarding the OF 2200 - what is the maximum diameter of a router bit that can fit thru the base opening?  I looked and didn't see that info on the Festool USA website.  Anybody know.  If you have one - could you measure?

Thanks,

Peter

Peter, if memory serves it's 2-7/8" but I can find out for sure.

Edit: DOH! I was wrong.  It's 3-1/2" and was in the manual (downloadable from the OF 2200 page)

Router diameter, max. 89 mm (3.5")

.
Peter,

Let's see,
this one measures just shy of 3 5/8"  across the widest stretch.
.....and the see thru plastic part is mark-free.  ;D

cheers,
Roger

ps. I'm in the process of putting a review together of the dining table project that I used this for.

Roger and Shane,

Thank you.

You'll see why - I hope.

YIKES I thought that was photo-chopped at first. Who makes that beast? Looks like MDF dust on it, that must have made a blizzard.

William,

I can't answer for Roger, but I can tell you it was custom made for a project of his.
