Hello,

I am ordering a MFT 1080 today.  Are there accessories that you can recommend for my initial purchase.  I am building cabinets/built-ins at the present time.

Thank you.

I will also cast a vote for the clamping elements.  I just received my 1080 and used it for the first time last week.  The clamping elements worked well (although pricey - but isn't everything?).  I can see a lot of uses for them.

I like part # 488 564, listed as a longitudinal stop.  It is an inexpensive attachment that I have found to be very useful.

I use it on the outfeed side of my MFT to make repeatable cuts.  Just set the distance, push your material up to it, flip it up so it doesnt bind your cut, and cut your material.  Then just flip it down to repeat.

Clamping elements are great. Perhaps due to my own clumsiness, I've not had great success with the quick clamps.  I prefer the regular (screw) clamps. In either case, get more clamps than you think you need because you never have enough.

When you have a chance, read Jerry Work's manual here:

Scroll down to "Getting the most from the MFT..." link.  Jerry's square clamping setup will be perfect for your cabinet carcass assembly, and you can build it yourself.

Also review the clamps used by John Lucas here:

I use the orange Jorgenson clamps frequently, and they are not at all expensive.  The Festool Clamping Elements work well, and I now have several pairs of the Festool "F" screw clamps, 489570 and 489571.

Don't go overboard until you see how you will use the MFT.  We are all different.
