Acid Catalysed Laquer

I'm spraying  A/C Laquer  on to an American cherry  coffee table I just made  and would appreciate some tips.
The Laquer is by  Morrels.

Can you spray  on a coat of this stuff  and then sand it down? Or is a  sealer  coat advisable?
I think I read some where  that  A/C Laquer  can be sprayed direct.

They give  advice on sanding I see.

Do you really have too  wait  one and a half hours  between coating?
And would you  clean your gun out in this period?

I always found that following the instructions is a good thing when dealing with professional products. They recommend a primer for bare wood so probably best to use it if you want maximum durability/adhesion. This is a post cat so as they say in the instruction the properly mixed product will last for approx. 36 hrs under normal conditions so complete gun cleaning would be unnecessary, just the crust that forms on the tip exterior. Though I haven't used this specific product I've used others that are similar, make sure you wear a good mask and have great ventilation.

I went with  shellac  based sanding sealer  and two coats  of satin finish  water based  brush on varnish  instead.
And  turned out  good.

I would read the label and see if the product is self-sealing.  The pre and post cats I use are self sealing (Valspar).  I have used them on bare wood on a few occasions typically when spraying something small (table top) and I am too lazy to clean the gun between products.  The finish looks the same and I'm guessing the durability would be as well. 

With that being said, when I'm spraying pre-cat I use a vinyl undercoater (I think that's what it's called).  This was recommended by the guys where I purchase most of my cabinet supplies.  The undercoated sands so much easier than the actual lacquer it makes the process much easier.

Post cat actually has a catalyzed sealer/undercoater for max durability.
