Hey all. Been awhile since I've asked a question of the "collective".

Wondering what the options these days in NA to add the tool side of a Plug-IT for my Fein multimaster. I've already got it tucked in a systainer. Would be nice to use the cord I've got strapped to my vac hose.

Thoughts?

Hope you noted that in the link above, it was 240V!

Is there any similarity between the UK 110 and the US 110 plug-it?

Most/All of the rest of the world, or at least Europe runs 240 to the US 120v common standard. Likewise the difference between 50 and 60 hz in the power system. If the end fits (I would be floored if it didn't, that would cause LOTS of extra Mfg on the part of Festool) and the wires are of a suitable gauge (I suspect they are, as it's a "notched" PlugIT to be used with a higher power demand tool like a Saw or Router), then it should fit and function just fine.

I didn't mean the voltage standard mavrick1903, I meant the actual plug.

Sorry. It's my belief/understanding that the tool side plug is unchanged. Did not mean to infer anything.

the only problem with those plug it repair adaptors is that they dangle and always get snagged on your work piece, with the ehl65 etc.

Narrowboatboy: Well, that can be remedied:

I did this long before the new EHL65 with plug it arrived. At first I was grinding my teeth over the snag but then I managed to trim the cord and make a very strong bond with the plug it and handle simply by boring a hole in it.

The Fein is not as pick and easy to Fess-up:

I have lost track of how many tools I Fessed up, Mafell, Bosch, Makita etc... Approx twenty of them, all work really well and I have minimized the power cord tangle to a bare minimum. Now I just bring one power chord and one neatly rolled up as a reserve. :)

I was cutting a piece of metal box tube with an angle grinder the other day and the cut off piece fell to the floor and neatly severed the cable, So I thought if I now had a Festool cable I could just continue working without a repair break.
So I bought 3 new  491145 UBS-PUR 420 Plug It 240 V.
I installed these Years ago on my RO 150 E and OF 900 but was never rally happy with the amount of cable that hangs out the end of the handles.
Then I saw the Photos from Henrik R, I was especially interested in his Fine Multicut.
He had the two Rubber sleeves touching each other.
With the rotex 150 and the Bosch grinder the motor cover is removed by sliding it as one piece back down the cable.

I discovered on the Bosch Grinder that the Rubber cable protector could be pushed in to the housing and slipped over the rubber protector from the Festool Plug It adapter. Now the short piece of green cable that was sticking out of the rubber was inline with the screw down device. So I measured what I needed of uncovered seperated cable and cut the cable to length.
Installed it and pushed the Rubber part and cable back in to place and it fits a treat.
I now have a much more rigid connection point and not so much dangling cable in the way.

I hadn't noticed the first time I could push the rubber cable protector in to the housing because it has a rubber attachment for the Allan key on it. So with a few clamps I managed to clamp it back.

which now means it drags less over the work and is closer to the end of the hose when I use my "plug it" on my boom arm.

On my rotex that had been annoying me for some years I managed to shorten the cable by 7,5 cm.
