First off, I am not sure what species it is.  It came from a small piece of old floor board from my 120 year old house.

It's a toss up between Ash and Chestnut.

Looks good - I did the same thing only with a strip of sapele left from a project.

One thing I like is measuring from the edge of the blade is easy when I just drop the tip of the tape measure into the kerf.  I don't cut many angles so it works for me.

Well thanks!!

It took about 15 minutes to actually make it.  Took and entire day to try and figure out what kind of wood it is, and that part is not even done yet!!

I change out my zero clearance plates almost everyday. ( lots of bevel and straight cuts on the same jobs)  Soon a pain in the a** with those 6 screws.  For the last year, or so, I've just used double sided foam tape.  Works like a charm, if you have to change plates often, never ever had one come loose.

I'm digging the the thanks guy!!

After completely obsessing over the last 2 days about what my old floor is, I believe it to be Ash.  Old wormy ash.

I even had a magnifying glass out, the rings are so tight, it is hard to see the pores and sometimes the difference between rings.

99% sure, I think there is a forester in this town. [scratch chin]

Nice accent for the Kapex there. Now, what about the fence faces there? You're down to bare metal  [laughing]. That wood on the faces would be sweet!!

Split the zeros...
