Can't complain one bit about how this forum is run. [smile]

My only complaint is the forum software itself.  Still haven't really gotten the hang of it, especially when dealing with pictures. PITA sometimes. [sad]

Kevin,

Here is one of the things that makes this place different.  I did some videos on how to deal with attaching or including imagers.  But if you need additional advice - just send me a PM.  I guarantee that there are oodles of members out who have the same issue and I / we are here to help.

Peter

I can usually manage fine with a few pics in a post.  I know most of the time I need to resize them before hand as there is a file size limit per photo.  Other forums have some kind of built in resizer, I don't think there is one here, or is there?

I had a post a while back that I was trying to post pics and then text in between the pics so as to allow the pics to flow what I wanted to explain.  Just got so many problems trying to do that, I gave up and instead put a link to another forum where I posted what I wanted to impart instead.

Kevin,

Regarding your issue, send me a PM and I will try to help.  This forum will is going to evolve and explode more than it has.  This forum software version did not even allow for posting of images originally.  The issue with automatic re sizing is that the image sizes being submitted to it can be enormous.  Take a 8 mega pixel image and when it comes out here it should realistically less than 100 kb.  We aren't going to blow it up into a poster.

I can assure you that Shane is working on other stuff.  Just gotta trust me on this one.  Shane could work for any corporation / company in the world and be in charge of lots of programmers.  Nuff said.  Except, must have been his VA roots.

Trial and error has proved to me that 800 x 600 is the perfect pixel image size when posting photos. I reduce all my photos to this size before posting. The photos fill the screen without requiring the viewer to scroll at all.

Try it.

As for the photo, text, photo, text etc....it is very simple. It should like like this.

(attachthumb=#)

blah blah blah

(attachthumb=#)

blah blah blah

(attachthumb=#)

blah blah blah

(attachthumb=#)

blah blah blah

...and the # sign gets replaced with numbers 1 2 3 4 and so on.  Then click on Additional Options, browse and attach the photos in the order you placed them in the attachthumb tags.  Peter's tutorial really helped me out with this not long ago.

Actually, you don't need to add the numbers at all, just upload the pictures to the forum in the order you want them to appear.  The numbers (if you add them) represent the upload order, number 1 is for the first uploaded picture and so on.  So the only reason you'd need to add numbers is if you want the pictures to appear in your post in a different order than you uploaded them.

Or interspersed in the text?

No you don't or am I reading it wrong wa ur trying to say.

I never use numbers to put my pictures in order. I find it a lot easier to just upload them in order to how you want them  only if I made a mistake in order of uploading will I use the number system to move them around.   I just stick [ attachimg= #] in-between what I wrote to get them in position.   I hate [ attachthumb=# ] needed to click to enlarge all the time.
