I don't know what Festool calls the plastic end caps with strap gizmo that is used to carry the UG extensions but mine got broken about a month ago, they fell to the ground off my table and the plastic end caps shattered like glass into about 30 pieces. I really didn't like them all that much in the first place and always struggled putting the extensions in them.
So, has anyone here on the FOG made anything on their own to store and carry the extensions that they are happy with and would be willing to share?  I can certainly come up with something on my own, but the FOG seems to always have someone who has a genius idea on this sort of stuff.  Any help or ideas are welcome!

They do seem to be made of some of the most brittle ABS plastic that Festool was able to get their hands on, don't they?  I bought a set of extensions with the carrying strap from a "ding and dent" type of sale, and easily 5% of the end caps was in pieces inside the box.  Another 4-5% was also taped to the caps with Scotch tape by the seller already.

A 3D printed alternative or others must surely exist out there, but the way the wings nest together is pretty ingenious and makes a custom solution a little more necessary than, say, a rifle bag or something similar.

I built this custom Systainer and used it for a few years. It was great except for the weight. Working on (when I get the time and inspiration) a new version with smaller (shorter height Systainers) that will also have fewer items along with the Kapex extensions. Possibly one for the extensions and one for the guide rails plus a few accessories in each.

I also broke a UG cap when I put it (with the extension inside) vertically on a concrete floor, probably too fast. It resulted in many sharp plastic "shrapnels"...
It is not always possible to handle this whole big thing (folded extensions with the caps) in a very delicate manner.

They made a mistake by going for this very brittle plastic instead of something rubberized or least much softer.
