Alternative ideas to WCR 1000 work center?

Hey all! This is my current roving CT 26 situation (pic). I'm looking for a way to keep the hose and Plug-it cord off the ground when not in use, and considered the WCR 1000, but to me it feels too cluttered and I don't really need the peg board feature of it. But I *do* like how it has hooks that can suspend the hose.

I thought about bolting a hook somewhere to a systainer, but 1) not sure how much weight the ABS can support, and 2) would obviously prefer not to drill into a systainer if possible.

Any ideas out there?

If you have a 3d printer, there are feet and Tloc receiver parts you can print out that can be attached to a plywood plate.  Then screw your hook to that plate and shove it in your stack.

Ah great idea. I don't have a printer though, maybe someone is selling them on Etsy or something, I'll take a look. Thanks!

I had the same problem: For the 35mm hose, I use the Tanos Adapt-L inserted in the CT VA. [note it looks like Tanos has discontinued it]. The 27mm hose and plug-it cord are stored in a CT SYS Hose Container. I added a 3d printed holder for 150mm sander and base to store a Track Saw when cutting.

The Boom Arm fits the CT26… hartville hardware clearance had a damaged box kit for 20% off. (Bought the second to last one a month or two ago, not sure if they still have one.)

The SYS-Storage box on top has a sturdy handle that you could probably use as the basis of a mounting point for a hook.
I agree ... but ... why on earth is almost no one using the "label" slots on the T-Locs for 3d-printing a 2-piece hose holder?

These slots are rated for 20kg each! They were designed for the front handle and straps use. No one is going to be opening the CT-VA top next to this area anyway so restricting access to the T-Loc seems a complete non-issue.

Yes, I did not do that yet ... as was lazy to model this ... but is seems such an obvious way it is not even funny.

I mean, the Adapt-L exists, so maybe that's why?  Although now that it's harder to get, maybe a 3D printed replacement is advisable?

Following up with my solution - I just ended up getting the handle and tossing the hose on it. Works great.

It has sharp edges (when a hose is throw over it), so is not optimal as a hose storage solution. But yes, basically that is what I had in mind. Nothing too fancy.

Just realized from your photos how appropriate a place the top of a CT-VA is for the Storage Box! Thanks.

Following up on this in case anyone cares - I ended up finding that the Planex holder thing is actually exactly what I was looking for. The little horns on in hold the hose and cords perfectly, and the little indent in the middle (for planex paper) is pretty great for pencils, squares, and just a nice catch-all in general. I think this is the final evolution for me. Love it.

[member=60792]bwehman[/member] yes I care!!!

I've got a near identical setup to you (from top to bottom the stack looks like this):

Inspired by your post the planex thingy is now attached to the very top of this stack
Sys5 T-Loc Cleaning Set attached to CT-VA
CT-VA attached to Midi
CT Midi with Bluetooth on bottom (Midi has handle, accessory holder and chord wrapped installed as well)

I ordered the planex thingy months ago inspired by the work of [member=71478]FestitaMakool[/member] who bought one of these for a cool mod and he worked out the top and bottom sections came apart (thanks Festita).  I hadn't done anything with it thus far so I just attached the plantex thing to the top of my stack mentioned above.  I was previously wrapping the hose round a hose Y splitter thingy sticking out the side of the Midi (which worked fine).  I still feel the stack has more potential and is underutilised, it's begging to have other things hanging off of it, might have to look into what [member=69258]gwendal[/member] has done with his setup.

I did consider the WCR 1000, still not sure.  Thanks for posting all.

Thanks, yes it did work out very well.
Apart from: Any drawer based systainer is of best use below even in just a double stack..

[member=68900]Systainer.Store[/member] - It would be interesting if Tanos made separate top and bottom systainer compatible plates.. I’m sure that would be of interest to many people.
The cart is really not an option, the wheels makes it too expensive, and the cart itself is to big, heavy and clunky..

Bwehman, that looks very versatile. It does hold a lot of odd shaped objects. I was in fact tinkering with the thought of attaching it to the lid of my CTL Mini for that use. I only want it to release easy for normal systainer attachment and a functional lid with it attached.. one thought was to block it up to clear the hinged lid with Velcro straps.

Yes, I think we or Tanos should develop something of a "tweener" that is basically a board that can slot on top of Systainer or host systainers on top of it.  I've noodled on ideas, but it hasn't been a priority.  Over the weekend I traded notes with another customers asking for something similar.  Hmmm.....

I knew you would understand  [big grin]
I mean, why hasn’t Tanos made those years ago? I cannot see other than it would benefit Systainer users first and foremost…

Last night while falling asleep I had some ideas for prototypes.  Now, just to find time and make it a priority.....

I often wake up knowing that I had a great idea just before I fell asleep, the problem is I can never remember what they were.

Ha!

Years ago in my study of innovation and creativity I read a book and one of the takeaways was to keep a notepad and pen/pencil bed side.  I did that for years, it saved me in that I could unload my mind or remember something.  Now I use electronic jotting.
