Alternative to Festool Antistatic Hose

Doh! Somehow I couldn't find the 1.5" hose on Amazon when I tried searching for it.  Maybe it was because I was using the ipad app...  Thanks!

MIRKA Antistatic Hose 28 mm x 4 m ?1-1/4" OD x 12' + Soft Adapter
Code MIN6519411

Get it here.

This is the hose Mirka sells for the Ceros sanders. None of the descriptions say so but it is an antistatic hose. The "soft adapter" is similar to the Festool reducing fitting and screws right onto the hose and is directly compatible with Festools.

Price is $45.

The aforementioned 50mm Bosch hose from Amazon fits connects my CT 26 to my Kapex perfectly without modification. Hose seems less stiff than the anti-static Festool-branded one as well.

That looks really nice.  Do you have any of the Festool sanders?  Can you verify that the Bosch hose fits those tools as well - if you have the sanders, that is.

It does fit onto the 125eq sander but it seems awkward as the hose diameter is the larger 50mm size. Think the narrower sized one the vacs come with is better for smaller tools.

You're right, I forgot it's that big.  Thanks for the update nonetheless.

:)I need a longer hose for my festool Ct 26 e .
I mainly use this for sanding Drywall Patches and Cabinets . The Hose that comes with the CT 26 is
too short for some applications . Tall ceilings etc .
I also use the mirka cero sander as well . looking to add on to the hose that comes with the Ct
any suggestions .

I bought the longer 27mm AS from Festool hose for this very reason. That extra length does help with ceilings and I don't need to splice any hoses together.

I just purchased the bosch hose and have had a chance to finally use it.  I love the size, both in length and diameter.  Of i had known there would have been such an increase in suction, I would have purchased one a long time ago.  However, the smaller end that comes with the hose does not fit into the top piece(handle) of the compact cleaning kit.  Not a big deal, just have to remove that section and it works fine.

Gues I just need to purchase festool ends and swap them out.

I really don"t mind, adding to the hose i got .  Like the last post if the Bosch
hose give me more suction. I would love that . Reason being the mirka sander does
seem to kick up some extra dust .
If i ran the Bosch hose first, than the 27 mm hose that comes with the CT 26 what kind of connection
would i need . Since it would be 35 mm to 27 mm right .  need more coffee !!
thanks for all the reply's .

Looking around their site, they have 1.5" hose of this same model.  Would that be a potential alternative to 36mm hose?  36mm would be slightly smaller than 15" however.

I wonder if this would work at all.

I previously emailed Flexaust to get the O.D. of their 2" hose and their reference dimension is 2.4".  That correlates with the I.D. of the thread-on portion of the Festool 50mm hose end and proved to work fine.

I just emailed Flexaust again to get the O.D. of the 1-1/2" and 1" hoses.  The 1-1/2" O.D. is 1.9" and the 1" O.D. is 1.4".  Please note that they stress those are reference dimensions and only the I.D. is spec'd.

So if you have a 36mm hose end you can measure check its threaded piece's I.D. for comparison and that should tell you if it will work.  The 50mm end threaded on fine but was snug.

Enjoy!

UPDATE:  I just requested samples of both the 1" and 1-1/2" DPZ-C hose on the Flexaust web site.  So assuming I get them I will try them with the 36mm and 27mm hose ends and post the results back here.  Stay tuned...

UPDATE 7-24-12:  I just got an email confirming they will send me samples of both. :)

i ordered the 1.5" and Festool 452894 and Festool 487721.  so far i got the 452894 and the hose, they fit together with no problems.  still waiting for the 487721 to get here.  but see that the one side fit i feel the reducer fitting will fit with no problems.

Am I missing something?  I just received all of these parts and they don't even come close to fitting together.

Please advise if you have any info that may help.

Thanks in advance.
