So, as we almost all know, Amazon doesn't do price matching. When the price of a recently ordered thing has dropped considerably and it's within the 30 day window (longer around XMas), I order the same thing at the reduced price, then return the new, unopened one in the old, higher-priced slot. That way Amazon gets an unopened return they can legitimately sell as new and I get the lower price. Since we shop at Whole Foods sometimes this is easy.
A saw blade I just ordered a week ago and hasn't arrived since it's coming from the UK, has dropped $5 in price. In the past, I've had a $10 price difference as my threshold for doing the re-order-return hassle to save the money. This one bothers me because the price has dropped and I haven't even received the item!
Anyway, just wondering what others thoughts on this are. BTW, I did once have a chat with an Amazon rep via their online chat service, and they confirmed no price matching even within their site, and that my return/reorder was the way to go if I wanted to save that money.
