I'm relatively new to Festool and this is my first post on FOG.
I have had MDK 700 router for a little over a year and absolutely love it.  I got my second Festool last week - A Carvex 420.  I did notice that there was a lot more dust not collected by the system with the jigsaw than the router.  Is this just a difference machine types or am I not setting up correctly?
Appreciate the help

Hi and welcome to the forum [smile]
Collecting the waste from the Jigsaw is more challenging as the extraction port is at the rear of the main body so it is as close as it can get - the bulk is collected. Easiest way to see how much is really collected is to make a cut with it removed - surprising how effective it actually is  [wink]

Jigsw's will never be dust free because the blades throw the chips up and cannot be contained unless you do not need to see the cut.  Take your dust extraction off and see how much more is generated than with the extraction.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

As they said ..... difficult tool to collect from.  I know that isn't much help.

ya i cut alot of composite materials, without some type of collection at the bottom of the work piece its impossible to catch everything.
