Well it was an exciting St. Patrick's Day.  I broke out the green sweatshirt after hockey and went and dropped some green on my first Festool purchase (probably more to come).  I went to Woodcraft in Delaware and purchased the TS55, and accessories.  Gotta love no sales tax in Delaware.  I am really excited to spend tomorrow setting it up and making some cuts.  I read the manual and Rick's supplemental on Bob Marino's site, which is much better.  I do have a question, should I join both of my guide rails to cut the splinter guard or just do 1 at a time?

Congrats!  I assume you got 2 guide rail connectors.  Join them and cut.  That way you get clean cuts on the edges joined.  If you use something to make sure that they are aligned when you make that cut, take them loose and join them opposite and do the same.  Then all your strips are cut to the correct distance for your saw.

I wish you the greatest of FUN tomorrow.  It will change the way you do things.  If you need us someone is here virtually all the time due to our international members.

Thank you for the response.  Yes, I got 2 55" rails and 2 guide rail connectors.  I will connect them and clamp to a door for a stable base and make 1 cut.
