Good evening.
I need a new angle grinder and the festool is no good idea cause its not build for Metal but the dust collector working with the guide rail is super interresting.
I saw they sell the DCC-AG 230 seperate. Anyone an Idea if it works to put another angle grinder (Bosch or Fein) on it? Or they build it that it only fits the Festool angle grinder (which is not sold seperately without the dust collector)?
thanks a lot you guys.

I know for sure that the smaller 125 model works with any angle grinder that has a 43 mm neck. I guess it is the same with the bigger model too. But to be sure, ask you dealer.

I think [member=7673]neeleman[/member] has the big model, sure he'll weigh in.

In the past I bought a separate (Protool) sparks hood for it and with that I also use the grinder for metal works.

All I know is that the collar of the DSC-AG 230 has some groves in it to prevent the hood from rotating.
Furthermore the hood is only tightened with an allen screw so that looks universal.

So I assume that all other grinders wil fit.

Wow thanks for the answers. Maybe i get a used protool grinder but i initially was looking for the 4hp Bosch angle grinder with kick back stop. If that fits on the Festool dust collector it would be optimal for every use. I have a festool dealer in a nearby city maybe they have the angle  DCC AG in the Showroom.

I hope its allowed to post here Products beside festool. Alternative for me is the Eibenstock ETR 230 they have the second best dust collector i saw beside the Festool/protool and everything completly made in Germany. But it miss some features like breaking system.

Other alternative would be the Fein WSB 25-230 X also with all safety features but the dust collector they build is not optimal. Here the thing is the double price of the Bosch. If it is worthy to invest cause anyway it can break.

Hello

Did anyone find a grinder that will fit ?
So far i have tried a bosch LVI, einhell and metabo.
Bosch collar is too big, einhell and metabo too small !

Thanks for your help !

You didn't say what size of grinder you were looking for.

If you need a small one (115-125mm) I would strongly recommend the Hilti AG115. It comes in several different versions;
https://www.hilti.co.uk/c/CLS_POWER...ANDERS_7124/CLS_ANGLE_GRINDERS__7124/r2328145

I have this machine, and I use it for cutting metals plus tiles, bricks, stone, porcelain and quartz. The optional dust collection is very good. It doesn't catch all of the dust - but it gets maybe 90% of it;
https://www.hilti.co.uk/c/CLS_CORDL...ACUUM_7123/CLS_CORDLESS_DUST_CUT_7123/2101312

All the bigger Hilti grinders come with a similar dust collection optional accessory.

Hi.
To be precise, what I'm looking for is a 230mm grinder that will fit in the DCC ag-230 dust collector which is compatible with the festool rails.

Try a Fein one..if that doesn't i doubt you'll find one that will.. [wink]

Alright thanks for the tip. I’ll try this one !
So far i have also tried Makita, Dewalt and Hikoki. None of them fits.

Ok seems a little tricky. Even the fein has a too small diameter to fit in this accessory. Looks like the only easy route is to buy the package unfortunately….
I made i work with my fein with a timing belt cut to size between the dcc clamp and my grinder to fill the gap.
festool has standard of its own, little disappointed on this one.
