Hey Guys,

Thanks for the ideas on some of the other radios that I have seen on the FOG,

This one has a TDK A33 I phone player that was taken apart to fit my setup,

play music  AC  or battery up to six hrs
phone charger
can use it as a speaker phone
made a enclosed bass box for the middle bass speaker (helps with the low end freq)
Battery charger for drill and a few bits that I use alot
Kaisen foam for inserts
Love it

thanks again for the ideas

wow, Well done!

I might of missed it in the other threads, what do you use as a template to drill the holes for the speakers?

Great stuff, really nice job, could you show a few pics of internals it would help a lot as i would like to make something similar. [big grin]

What is the part number for the plug-it socket you used?

Have a look for jonny round boys systainer radio(s), I think they're on page 2 of this part of the forum, he used vero board as a template to drill his speaker holes.  Looks neat

For the plug part number I believe this is it fes #489742 got it off the receipt from my local shop had some in stock, I havent looked up any part numbers lucky for me my guy at Anderson plywood sales in Los Angeles Don Ware takes care of me I will ususally go in there and say hey you know that little thinga majig thats on the thing can you get me one , and he looks at me  [huh](freakin customers)  . Hope this is it.

Sorry I didnt get any pics of the internal, the main radio I can still take out if there is a problem, If I blow the speakers I have painted myself into a corner but I just used 3m glued on the Kaisen foam to the systainer it will come off, Sorry I couldnt be more help.

For the holes I just made a simple template out of a little square piece of wood marked it out with a square, 1st made a cross centered on the piece then took the 45 on the square and lined up the center an marked both sides and then starting from the center mark I think it was 1/4" centered for each hole and used a small brad point bit, As you can see it is not real tight if you dont drill straignt the front of your template looks good but the back is what it is (used 1/2 plywood for template), if you take your time you can pull it off, but I just Got' er done.

By far Johnny round boys radio is real slick he did the details, this is the red neck version of his concept.  Thanks Johnny
