another built in 1/2 bead board and 1/2 no bead board

here is a built-in I just finished in fact tonight at 9:30 I left there house.  they originally wanted bead board backs then changed mind, then after I did and attached the center unit he decided to go with the bead board on the side case.  so I did.

I used just about all my festool on this project from kapex to the new cxs drill.  they all worked great.  this is the first built in I did in a multi million dollar house and in a very exculsive neighborhood.

I did this one all by myself from start to finish and installed the tv in the center, (did have a tv installer come out tonight and do the hook ups.

chris,  yes I painted it along with my hair, arms and hands !!!!  i hate painting especially dental molding and 2 times !

As always Kreg, nice job.  When you are contacted by a new customer do you steer them towards the style of built in that we've all become accustomed to seeing from you or do they request that?  I've done a lot of distressed finishes this past year and it's primarily a product of the customer requesting it up front.  However, I have found that when discussing the project with them I tend to favor options (style, finish, etc.) that I've become more proficient at.  I'm wondering if that's the same with your situation or if it's a matter of them seeing some of your past work and saying "I want that replicated in my house."

i show them my pictures portfolio on my ipad and people usually pick and say that is what I am looking for.  then I build it and add different ideas each time to make each one sorta different.  they also pick door style, that I make, arches, bead board or not, usually bead board as it looks so much nicer then plain.  and when I am done that are usually blown away with the custom things I add and do.  For example these people told me that I exceeded their expectations and the man 64 years old attorney even gave me a hug he was very happy.

I do not do any distress or special painting, if I had request for it I would hire it out.  but that is a good idea to mix it up.

all birch cabinet plywood, and popular for trim ( 4/4,  so it is 7/8" )  mdf raised panel.  I painted this one high gloss with sherwin williams  Pro Classic paint with some added flotrol and water base.

I usually use sherwin williams super paint.  but there pro classic is a great paint  $47 bucks a gallon less minor discount.

and zinser primer or behr enamal undercoat primer, and good primer.
