Another Custom Kapex Extension

Hello all,

I've been seeing some other custom made attachments for the Kapex and I thought I would share mine!

Mine is a shorter take-off from Buggeln and similar to Gary Katz' sketchup.  I did make mine to attach directly to the Kapex crown extension so that i could consistently achieve accuracy on the fence measurements.

I constructed mine from phenolic faced plywood with maple 1x for the skirting.  The legs are 1/2" ply with a 3/4" dado on both pieces so that I could adjust height as necessary.

Very nice and even-made it green! Better than any store bought you can get. Fantastic job.

Keeping the Kapex and MFT the same height like you did here is perfect!

Nick, His wings are going to be taller then that mft 1080 sitting behind it.

The kapex on its table is the same height as the newer mft/3.

I was using my table as a support, until I just got Bob's old Kapex extensions.

Bob-those look nice but, I like mine better. [tongue] [big grin]

Thanks for the kind words Nick!  The green was coincidental...although blue would match the Kreg fence better

It looks like I pulled a deceptive camera shot...to the left of my saw I have two mft 800's linked together. An mft 3 would work, but I'm too invested in my 6 mft's plus the one for the kapex (got the 800's and 1080's on closeout)!

There's another set up using the crown stops as the attachment to the saw.  That's where my problem is.

Those extensions are very impressive, I do like your method of adjusting the legs, its something I need to redo for my Kapex. Can you please explain how you have attached the wings to the crown extension?
