Another little project I am doing (metal work)

Hey Malte,
thanks for demonstrating what is possible with modest home wood/workshop tools and a willingness to move out of ones comfort zone a bit.
Sharing this project step by step can inspire others on he FOG to try something (new to them) and different.
Keep it up!

Hans

Hans, Thx. Fun to do.... Btw I was in Fort Meyers on Sunday.... Might be there more often in the future on business and will absolutely come by for a visit....

(Hey just realized that this was post 1,000 for me....)

That's a cool project.  I had never seen of the idea of a tilting stove.

Amazing what we'll do when coffee crosses with curiosity!

Great work!

Nice stuff Malte...I’m impressed that you’re taking on stainless as it work hardens so easily. However your application is perfect.  I love 💕 the finished product but I hate the process. So many things to potentially go wrong.

The only option is free machining stainless, 303 or 400 series stainless, however it doesn’t have the same corrosion properties that you need for a boat.

Permission to come aboard?

Thx. A hydraulic press sure would have helped with the bending and if I would build more of those jigs are the way to go and I should use the drill press instead of free handing the drilling....

Always looking for sailing companions.....

Just curious...where did you purchase the pivot bolts for the gimbal rings?
