I live in a valley that precludes me from getting cell phone coverage at home. It can be a pain to have to give customers multiple phone numbers and instructions as to what time to use each one. I just wanted to let you know about a gadget that I picked up to solve my cell phone issues.
NOTE: This is only applicable to AT&T wireless customers with 3G devices and words only on high speed internet connections.
AT&T has a device called the MicroCell. It attaches to your computer network and uses your high speed internet connection to allow you to make and receive cell phone calls. In other words, it acts like a mini cell phone tower and converts your calls to voice over internet service.
There are two plans available. One plan doesn't cost you any money out of pocket, but uses up you cell phone minutes. The other plan cost you 20 dollars a month and doesn't use up your minutes. You can set up ten different AT&T 3G cell phones to work on it, and up to 4 can be in use at any one time. They connect automatically.
The cost of the unit is about 150 dollars. If you sign up for the unlimited pay plan to not use your cell phone minutes, there is currently a promotion that gives you a 100 dollar rebate. You may cancel at any time.
If you are interested in looking at this, here is a link: MicroCell
For clarification, I am not employed or affiliated with At&t in any way.
Peter
