Anti-static hose earthing.

Who, how is that possible through the anti static hose?
Must be a very high static charge then.
Appearantley the grey hose you use is not anti static and may be the cause for the build up.
This is really dangerous for your electric components in your CT

It´s very very frankensteinish, but it works and I am sure prevents my CT from burning
It wasn´t a populair thread but maybe it is of use to you

Isn't that an unused hose being stored in the hose garage? If so, then it is the body of your dust deputy that is discharging, and the hose is simply acting to shorten the path of the arc.
You have an anti-static hose between your tool and the DD, but a non-anti-static hose between the DD and the Vac. Simply grounding the body of your DD should reduce the likelihood of additional discharges.
