Recently I was out on a walk and noticed a box marked “Festool” out on the street awaiting trash pickup.  So it seems there is at least one (so far unknown) Festool user in my neighborhood.  Thought I’d try a shout-out here to see if there are any others in my area.  I’m in Monroe, Louisiana.  If you’re local, please send me a personal message and maybe we can try a meet-up.

Funny story:

I helped a friend move over the weekend.  At one point, I was bringing boxes out of the truck and into the house and saw FESTOOL on the side.  I set the box down and made a mental note to ask him about Festool and if he used them for body work or something (he's an auto mechanic).

Before I saw him again, I remembered that I had given him and his wife a bunch of boxes to help them pack.  Awkward conversation averted!

My father-in-law's co-worker sells a lot on eBay and is always looking for boxes and packing material to ship stuff.  I've gotten packages via UPS in diaper boxes and in incontinence product boxes.

Hopefully this was a fellow user and not just a red herring!  (that said, I don't know that I would ship anything in a Festool box that wasn't a Festool, or even that was a Festool; it's almost like shipping something benign in a box for a high end cellphone...)

Good story.  Speaking of boxes: I spent almost 30 years in the military and made many moves during that time.  To prevent damage, I kept many of the original boxes to repack things for the next move.  Now that I’m retired, I’m getting rid of boxes.  But I’m keeping my circa 2015 Kapex box….just in case it goes up in smoke.

[member=64217]DashZero[/member], thanks for the reply. By the way, a friend of mine recently got scammed on a Domino DF500 Craigslist ad. I believe the seller was in Baton Rouge. Of course I suppose he or she could’ve been anywhere.

Good to know.  If I purchased anything off Craigslist it would be in person and I would meet them at a Bank, so you have security cameras watching at a Public Place.  I have done this when I sold an iPhone locally, and then deposited the money at the bank right then.
