Any Formula 1 fans out there?

I'm an F1 fan, defo looking forward to the new season next month!

Should be interesting with the rule changes, although there's bound to be arguments about interpretation of the new wing rules. Shame they got rid of refueling though, but it may turn out to be a genius move. We'll see.

Can't wait to see who wins out of Button & Hamilton - the last two world champions in identical cars will certainly be worth watching.

Schumacher coming good is great for the sport, and hopefully he'll be competitive with the magic 'dream team' combo of Button & Hamilton. He didn't fill in for Massa 'cos of a neck injury, but he had ages to recover so something might have permanently affected it.

From a UK perspective, I'm glad the British GP is back at Silverstone where it belongs. Should never have tried to move it in the first place...

Though with it (the British GP) being on the same day as the World Cup Final, it could be either a fantastic day of sport, or the most almighty sheduling clash (don't know what times they're both on, hopefully not at the same time!!!).

i love f1. unfortunately i dont get to see many of the races because of the time difference here in australia.
schumacher will certainly stir it up again. i cant wait to see how he goes.
i believe there are quite a few new teams this year.
that has to be good for the sport.

regards, justin.

oh yes...

last year was tremendous.  Ross Brawn is a real hero!  My loyalties migrated as Mclaren dug themselves deeper

not sure what to make of the Mercedes takeover and associated all German line-up.
Schumacher racing again is wonderull news - I'd love to see how he compares against Hamilton and the others.
I have some regrets he's racing a Brawn, as he has only won with Brawn.  Is Brawn the key differentiator, is Schumi really smart to pick the best?

I'd love Lotus to do well, it's the team I grew up with. (I've even bought my first Lotus)  Mike Gascoigne is another talent; and they even have cosworth engines - all magical names - even if the owners are completely different.

It looks as if it has the potential to be a great year.

But the last two will take some topping

Yup, big F1 fan.  Sad my man Coulthard is no longer in it but i think the Red bull team will be a strong contender this year.  They wernt far off last season & with Vetell & Webber, they could be the ones to watch.  The new Mercedes team will be a strong contender but i wonder how long it will be before Schumacher starts cheating again  [big grin].  Its the dream team back together again with Schuie & Ross Braun + Mercedes, got to be the team to beat.
I don't rate Button highly at all & i think Lewis will kick his ass all over the Mclaren garage  [tongue]
I personally will miss the refueling but you never know, it might be good.  I cant believe Festool are not sponsoring the Mercedes team being all German & all that  [wink]

I'm a fan of the technology, teams and drivers.  BUT, the racing is actually pretty boring.  Not enough passing and close racing. I know, it's a very general statement, but compared to sports cars (DTM, ALMS, etc), it just isn't that interesting.  It is very cool when the rare close race happens.  For real action, Moto GP is the best.

Anybody hear how much Shumi is getting paid?  I actually enjoyed his later career, but had little respect for him when he tried to plough Villeneuve of the track years ago to prevent him from winning the Championship.  Hey, wasn't that the same sort of thing that Piquet squealed about that got Flavio in the hot seat, except if its a driver induced act alone, its not a crime....give me a break.  Have been a fan since the 70's, but like all sports, they ultimately have a greed/business/arrogance/stupidity that exposes the sport as not really being sport.  Sad!  Don't know what to watch any longer.....oh!.....Olympics starting in a few days.  Please tell me they won't let the ball drop.  OOooops, already too late.  Just read an article about figure skating shinanegans and they haven't even hit the ice yet.  Maybe we should submit "Woodworking" as a sport?  We're clean and pure.....aren't we?  On second thought, let's keep it clean and pure and call it a pastime.  Don't want to tarnish us as a sport. [unsure]

I just watched the Monaco race, nice to see them able to finish the last few laps.  This is the only F1 race I watch, anyone else a Monaco Grand Prix fan?

So who won Indy 500 today?

I don't really watch regularly, but I put it on while having lunch today. Didn't see the finish, or the start for that matter. Local TV signal video froze one minute before the start  [eek] and stayed that way for about 20 minutes. I bet that got some calls  [mad]
