Merry Christmas!  So we got my son a PS4 for Xmas and while I was setting it up I ran into an issue that isn't letting me go forward with the set up.  The console powers on and then you are directed to connect/sync the controllers.  Following the directions, I plug the usb cord into the console then the controller.  I then hit the button to sync and nothing happens.  I try with both controllers with nothing happening.  I then tried to reset the controller and other things I read online.  Still nothing.  Has anyone else had this issue?  How did you fix if you did? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello this Rickey, my dad enlisted my help for your question. Can you tell me what the onscreen messages says or post a picture of the tv screen?

Thanks for responding.  The screen simply says connect the controller and hit the PS button in just about every language on earth.  There is also a picture of the console showing the cable to the controller.  When I hit the button, the light flashes white about 3 or 4 times, then goes out.  The lights on the first controller should turn blue, which never happens.  Like I mentioned, I have tried the one that comes with and the extra dual shock controller we bought.  I don't get an error message or anything, and the screen doesn't advance to the home screen (I assume comes next) to complete set up .  I took a break to take the dog for a long walk to clear my head, next I will try in safe mode.

I just finished setting up the same exact unit along with the VR and the camera for my daughter.  I plugged only 1 controller to the front usb port before powering it up and it worked fine.

Im not much of a gamer but hope that helps

Thanks for the help.  I will try another cable.

I tried plugging in before turning on and after, no luck.  Glad you got yours set up.
