The owner knows little/nothing about this vacuum. He is offering it at a fair price $250 but I thought I would run it by you guys if you can give approximate age and any information you can provide.
If you think used vacuums are worth buying?
Is that a good price?

I’m assuming it will need a new filter and bags. Any other things I’m not thinking of with buying used vacs?

Huge experience with buying used Festools here. I'd skip on this one, it's an older model and could still have the less powerful motor. You don't want one with the less powerful motor. I still have one, and it sucks. The bad way. Gladly I also have a newer model.

Most of the Mini vacs that are not T-Loc compatible have the older less powerful motor, and only a few of the very latest iteration before T-Loc have it. Difficult to find out which one is which exactly, you'd have to make a study of the product numbers.

If you get a Mini/Midi vac, just make sure it has a T-Loc connection on top and you're safe.

Its really hard to say. I bought a CT 22 that looked lke it has been through the ringer, what looks like epoxy all over it and pretty beat up. I paid $195 bucks for it about 5 years ago. I tell ya I love that machine it can put a water melon through a water hose.

I got just to hook up to my Kapex.  Awesome little CT.

So IMO uneducated opinion, it depends check the machine out before ya bu is all I can say. But ya cant go by looks, my 22 looks like I dug it out of a dumpster

Let's do some math:

a) Price for a new mini (new model & warranty) - $540
b) If it were an old model, its new price (guess, given the annual price increases): $450 - $480
c) Seller's asking price: $250
d) Add new filter and bag :$100
e) Price you actually pay: $350

Discount for second-hand machines: 30% to 50%, depending on condition

At 40% -- (b)x0.6, the asking price should be $270 to $288 but it should also include working filter and bag. For $350, you would be overpaying $70 to $80.

Conclusion: No deal. I would skip the deal, unless the seller offers to reduce his price. I would rather spend $200 more and get a new mini with new features and warranty.

You can choose your desired discount, and recalculate the offer.

Like Seth said, try to get the manufacturing date on the SN label. The higher capacity Mini & Midi we’re first listed in the 2013 catalog.

Good perspective I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks for the info
