The regular 36mm hose didn’t make a visible improvement in my Kapex dust collection, but the short 36mm hose did.
Short meaning what?
I think the best answer to that is, as short as you can go, without compromising the full use or movement of the saw when in use.
I made one up at 1.5 mtrs which was fine but, because of the position of one of my extractor points, and where the saw is often used in the workshop, I was able to use a shorter hose at 1.2 mtrs.
So, get the saw as close to an extraction point as possible, or if using a Festool extractor, move it as close to the saw as possible, even raising it on a stand to cut the distance further. Then put the saw through all of it’s range of mitres, bevels and slides, allow a little slack, then cut the hose allowing for the cuffs, and away you go.
I have a 1mtr length of hose, I think that could also work. The shorter the better really.
