No offense to those of you in IT, but I have been burnt by IT sales reps more than once on a very large scale.

I think a lot of the time there's a massive disconnect between IT Sales reps and the people who actually do the work.

One side makes up in exuberant confidence what it lacks in the foundational understanding, and the other side is usually just bemused by the promises of vaporware while saying "nope".

Working in IT/communications the last nearly 30 years it's never really been any different.
