I'm to the point where I can probably count my remaining Festool tool purchases on one hand (though accessories and consumables  are probably a forever thing), so I'm starting to think about other tools I'd like ...

Some of the Hilti cordless stuff has caught my eye recently and I particularly like the look of their 36V Reciprocating Saw and Circular Saw.

I was about to get a big bag of Metabo stuff on promotion, they have some really good deals on at present - but I'd end up with a bunch of stuff I don't need and stuff that's only marginally better that what I have (e.g. 18V Hitachi Circular Saw that I'm not impressed with, replaced by an 18V Metabo! - Dumb!!)

So I'm reaching out for anyone's experience with the Hilti 36V stuff.

Kev.

Actually Metabo makes high quality tools. In my opinion they're definitely more than maginally better than hitachi.
Can't go wrong with Hilti.

i have the 36v hilti circular saw, It is pretty heavy but work great. You can also use it on a guide rail.
I have not got the 36v recipro saw but have got the 22v version, It has cut through everything i have put in front of it  [big grin]
They have now just  brought out a  36v 6Ah battery  [eek]

Nothing against Metabo in what I'm saying ... just the circular saw ... it's only a little better that Hitachi's version of a 6 1/2 in 18V cordless.

Hitachi make some great tools too - just not everything!

The bargain I'm looking at is a big Metabo bag containing:

Charger
4AH 18V batteries x4
Circular Saw *
Angle Grinder
Recipro Saw *
Rotary Hammer **
Impact Driver
Torch

* are the things I'm after, ** is the bonus and the rest are really just fodder.

I took the Hitachi Circular saw into the roof to do some repairs, it was then that I realised (in my best obi wan kenobi) this was not the cordless circular saw I was looking for  [embarassed]

5m up a ladder a couple of weeks ago a nice recipro would have made life much better to

... come to think of it, and aggressive cordless belt sander would have been nice as well - never seen one of those [scratch chin]
