Anyone used the Duplex LS 130 EQ Sander w. DIY kit for custom profiles?

Greetings:

I hate sanding the edges of raised panels and am tempted by the custom profile sander. I would be interested if this "works as advertised".

Yes, it can.

If you have fine details, the DIY kit doesn't work so well.  A small bead or small rabbet will either be untouched or largely erased.  If you have a sharp detail - like a sharp arris in bevel - the sharpness will be lost, most likely.

Works great for ogees and nice smooth or flat contours

Tim's right on,

I have made customs it for bullnose, ogee and some other odd but simple profiles.  Go slow when final shaping the negative profile in the foam block so your details stay as crisp as possible, I usually fine tune the last bit with a file.

I second what, no third, what Tim said.

If you are careful though it does a bang up job on your end grain application.

A thousand words and all that.
