Hi:

I have a Festool  RO90 and ETS 150 sanders.  I would like some recommendations on what to use for applying paste wax to a wood, varnished serving tray.  The polyurethane varnish has cured for about a week.  I would like to apply some additional protection as well as get some experience applying and polishing the wood surface.

Thanks
John

Wax may add a nice luster, but minimal protection. For the tray, because of its presumably small size, I would use the RO 90 with a foam pad. Apply the wax  to the pad and go for it. Wipe off with a clean all cotton rag or microfiber cloth.

I prefer to apply wax by hand and polishing with machanical means....unless the wax you're using has some sort of abrasive in it, intended for polishing/rubbing out....

Go to Griots Garage as an excellent place to buy the foam applicator pads, buffing pads, etc.  I use them on my Porter Cable ROS for car detailing.
