Just unpacked my new APS 900 and it looks lovely and shiny.
Dose any one know if Festool or any other manufactures make a protective bag for such a shiny new toy?

Festool don't make one specifically for the jig. I believe Trend make some padded bags for their jigs, one of those may fit. Or, perhaps you could get one of the big Festool bags & keep it in there along with your rails?

Yes I bit the bullet
It will not fit in my rail bag as it's to wide with the bolt jigs fixed on the side and I am not going to take them of every time I want to pack it away
I think this bag should be padded an have room to take bits from the MFS system as well
Any thoughts?

Have you tried it yet ?  Windmill John has one & he said it is fantastic.  Just wondered what it is that makes it better than say the Trend ones ?

Hi Meatman

There is no dedicated bag and as you have found out it bigger than the average jig when put together.

I had intended to put together a ply case for it with a kingspan insert carved to take it. I still intend to  [embarassed]. Mine goes to work in the cardboard box it came in, its holding up very well. Did you get the extra dog bone template? I would have a bit of a practice before you use it on a paying job. the instructions are not good and you can come unstuck ( i have one or twice) would recommend high lighting the reference hole that is used to locate the jig ( on the back edge of the work top)when cutting the bolt holes, on both sides of the jig.

Enjoy its good once you get used to it.

Edit. Use dry lube on the jig as well it helps with the drag of router base.

Have done a bit of research today and found the Festool big bag FS-Bag-PA looks like it's got plenty of room for the other pieces of the MFS system I just hope it's wide enough.
I did get the router bit that was suggested plus lots more than I needed of course.
Yes I did get the extra bolt jig
What makes it better than the Trend jig?  1, it's much shinier 2, it's got Festool APS 900 stamped on it 3, I've got a Trend jig
4, because I didn't have one

It still isn't any wider than a guide rail though. You would have to take the dog-bolt templates off. Is that a particularly time consuming process?
