here is a project I did using true 4x6, 4x10 rough cedar.  my challenge was to cut the ogee on the ends of 28 4x for this arbor.  the lumber company had a 2 month wait time to do it.  So I bought the Festool Jig saw and the long blades.

It worked like a charm and did a beautiful job on the ogee ends.  The cabinet doors were made using the festool 1400 router, and if you open up the doors their is the customers big screen TV to watch football outdoors!

I wish to enter this into the October Contest, thank you

Nice job on the arbour!

I know that the Festool jig saws are capable of such work and I often surprise people when I reach for my jig saw to do certain jobs.  In my opinion, their jig saws are an often forgotten and often underrated member of the Festool line.  To me, my Festool jig saw rates right up there within the set of my most used tools.

Nice!
This project definitely convinced me that the Festool jigs are capable of cuts at the extreme end of the tool's capacity.
As there is some debate as to weather you can get a square cut, I was wondering  did the Festool jig saw cut those ogee's square or at right angles to the face?
If so, what blade did you use?

It cut them straight. I was also amazed. But it worked. I used the 6". Blade don't remember the #. But it has teeth

I used a new blade about every 10-12 cuts. And cut at a slow to medium speed.

For deep cuts like that, I use 490179. It looks like this:

Is that the one, Kreg?

Kreg, Tom, thanks. While I don't need this right now, I know I will in the future. It's good to know that the Trion can handle those types of cuts. It'll be interesting to see what the Carvex will be capable of.

Wow that looks great!  Gonna be pretty awesome with the fire going and all.....
True cuts in 4x lumber??!!!

Wasn't going to buy the jigsaw, but now.........

Damn you, Kreg....  [wink]

Has anyone used the PS 300 jig saw mounted in CMS module for cutting thick stock, say 75-100 mm( 3-4 "). I don't have room for a band saw at the moment and was looking to use this for cutting out legs for chairs etc. Cheers
