Are you looking for a Dewalt 735 Planer 12/06/2025

Loees is also having a sale on Flex as they are going to drop them from the retail stores. The inline 6.5" circular is now $99 and has very enthusiastic reviews.
Sign up for their Daily Deals, I bought that saw for $69 about a week ago.

Are you sure about the idea that the brand will be dropped? A guy in customer service (who also bought some Flex tools) said they were just discounted to make room for new models. So, I don’t know either.

@Duckler depending on where you buy it a real Byrd Shelix head is probably around 450-550 plays shipping

There are knockoffs that are cheaper but Byrd has been doing this for a long time.

Comes with new bearings as well.

I just noticed that Lowes has a clearance event going on and the Dewalt 735 thickness planer is $200 off right now. Other deals to check out also.

Dang. That is what I paid pre-covid.

But it is a nice planer if you can't get one of the bigger ones. I have run a ton of pine through mine and lately a bunch of cherry. It had a tough time with the cherry until I put in new blades. Multiple years on the first set of blades and didn't notice anything until I ran hard wood through it. :p

Edit: ACtually, I just flipped the blades over, as they are two sided.

I'm getting that "info" strictly from YouTubers, of which there have been more than one talking about the move of Flex from Lowes retail to perhaps just Lowes online. But it's YouTubers, so...

And what do you think of that saw? Right now, it's $99 and the 2ah battery kit with charger is $49. The 2 9/16" cut depth would give me slightly greater capacity than my old school corded DeWalt 364 with its 2 7/16" cut depth - which I'm surprised about since I would have thought that the larger blade would have a deeper cut - even after 30 years.

Since posting this morning I‘ve read a bunch of stuff on the web saying Lowes is definitely moving the brand out of the stores. Don’t know if the brand will still be available online but searching right now the 6-1/2” inline saw is not even online.

I can’t do anything much with the saw at the moment (post-op recovery) but I did install the blade and a 3.5 amp battery and while it’s amazing that the tool is only about 4” high when laying on it’s side the area it takes up is dismaying. I don’t think it could fit in an ordinary Systainer. On the other hand you might get 3 of them standing up in a Sys 4 or 5. 🤪
