I have owned an ATF 55 EB/1 with table system since new. Over the years is has done duty for the odd jobs and projects around the house. This is the 3rd time the saw has developed a problem whereby it starts intermittently. Both times it had been sent to the dealer where the electronic speed controls were replaced at considerable cost. It now has the same problem. If this is an inherent fault as the dealer alluded to, could it be wired directly to operate at full speed instead ? Judging by the previous repair costs, if I replace it again, I have paid the purchase price twice.

I think you always need the electronics module, no way around it. It is also not safe to modify the saw beyond factory specs, so please, just don't do it.

Sorry you have a problem with your saw, but the way you tell it, I think it is best to look for a new one.

Welcome to the FOG! I'm sorry it couldn't be under better circumstances.
I'm not aware of an inherent fault with the ATF 55.  There could be several things that could be causing this issue. If you could PM me your contact information I will have one of my colleagues from your area contact you to help resolve the problem.
