Attaching melamine shelving

I am looking for suggestions for attaching some melamine shelving to the wall. I was thinking of putting in ledger board under the shelving on three sides and putting screws in through the top side. These shelves are only 26" wide. My only worry is putting in a screw that is only 9.5mm from the edge. Any recommendations? The ledger board will be 3/4" maple. If I use screws what type would you use? I could also use the domino or the Lamello Zeta P2.

A few dabs of Roo Glue Clear. Weight the shelf, give it a few hours. Done.

Hot glue will work okay for a while, it will eventually let go of the melamine.

If you want to keep it clean-looking, a couple of 4mm dominoes set vertically into the side ledger boards might be a solution, and will also keep the shelves from slipping out inadvertently.

How wide (tall) are the 3/4 maple shelf supports. You could pre-drill them before mounting the supports to accept screws from the underside. That way the top stays clear and nothing visible but easy to undo if you want to take them down.

I have not measured them or cut them yet. Most likely 3/4"x3/4". I was thinking about possibly doing that. I may end up going with the domino option.

Have you looked at "hidden shelf brackets"?

I have not looked into hidden shelf brackets. With the material being melamine I would like to get all the support I can get. I will take a look into it.

I have made a large number of melamine shelves attached to the wall in my garages. I used pine or popular 2x2, well sanded to create a frame. The 2x2 against the wall is attached with Lag bolts to studs. I have a vertical leg on the front of the shelves about every 4-6 feet depending on the length of the shelf. I attach the melamine with a countersink to make the screw head even with the melamine. Then attach with 1.5 inch sheet rock screws. Works great. Be sure and paint the wood before you attach the melamine
By using the 2x2 frame under each shelf there is no melamine warping over time and you have good clearance between shelves.
Hope this helps
Mike :)
