Attaching UG extensions to MFT

Although I've had the capability for a few years, yesterday was actually the first time I hooked up the ug extension to the mft, to take advantage of the additional support and especially stops for batch cutting.

I found however that the oem m6 knobs on the extension bracket are too big, and will hit up against the aluminum profile on the side of the mft. Fortunately I had some smaller M6 knobs lying around that were just small enough to clear the profile.

Am I missing something? I don't recall hearing about this problem attaching the extension to the mft.

The pictures show the brackets secured with the smaller M6 knob, which just brushes the aluminum profile when turned, and then a side by side shot of the two knobs, in which you can see the significant difference in size.

I too have had the capability to do so and haven’t. I’m curious as to replies from others. I have to believe there is a simple resolution to this. FT’s R&D department couldn’t have missed this contradiction.

Good work troubleshooting the problem. Like you, I keep odds and ends laying around, unfortunately I can’t always find them when I need them.

I’m going to stay tuned to this thread.

I've had the same issue with the same solution. The wings are super-useful with the mft.

Thanks for sorting this out-
I'm assuming that I could attach the extensions to my CMS as well- everything seems to be the same height.
Just wondering if anyone has done this?

I did that a while ago when I needed a long support, works.

Just found out that the ug with kapex is, when in transport position, the same hight that CMS. Using it as a support to cut large boards. Almost perverted.
