My wife's military tour in Germany has come to an end...and a year early. [crying]  My additional purchasing plans for Festool NAINA items were supposed to be spread over the next year, but got compressed into three months..  [scared]  I leave Tuesday the 3rd of June for Paris, and then on Wednesday for my Florida house,...and where my workshop lives.  All these items will soon follow, courtesy of the U.S. Military shipping all of our household goods!

Nonetheless... Mission Accomplished! [thumbs up]   I made my last pickup at my Germany dealer yesterday during my third trip to them within three weeks. Added to what I had already purchased over the last year, it's a heck of a NAINA haul heading back to the USofA! [tongue]

The one other power tool that was NAINA when I purchased it in Germany was the PSC420 Jigsaw, and that's already been at work in my U.S. shop.  Great tool! About the same time, I purchased the VacuSys clamping system with accessories, as well as a secondary clamping unit, an extra round head, and two mounting clamp systems that can rotate under an MFT/3 with the clamps attached.  The whole system has been waiting patiently in my German house for the time to ship back to the USA.  That time has now finally come. Whew! [tongue]

[attachimg=#1]

This is the secondary clamp which is powered off of the main vacuum unit so that you have two clamps operating at the same time for long boards or pieces.
[attachimg=#2]

[attachimg=#3]

[attachimg=#4]

[attachimg=#5]

As the new products for 2014 started to get introduced in Europe, it became apparent that my addiction could simply NOT handle being so close to the new products that were NAINA, and NOT having them in my possession. SO... a large number of shekels later..... addiction satisfied and ....success! [big grin]

After long consideration, and multiple discussions with my trusted contractor in the U.S., I have elected to install the ASA 5000 boom arm and Energy Box in my shop. We finally figured out how to best mount the 250lbs arm, giving full swing over most of my big machines, and eliminating the need for roughly 60% of both the 110V and 220V outlets I was going to have to have installed in the shop. The biggest headache was how to route the ducting for my big Dust Collector, while still allowing for the Boom Arm to swing to machines, as well as assembly and sanding tables.

Here's the Boom Arm, all nice and boxed up awaiting the movers next week:
[attachimg=#6]

The Energy Box with Pneumatic and power outlets also ready for shipment:
The Power Side - The current outlets will be replaced with (2) 110V outlets and one 230V 1-phase outlet connected to a 30amp breaker.
[attachimg=#7]

The Air / Pneumatic side
[attachimg=#8]

Being as the PDC Quadrive and BHC SDS drills aren't making it to the U.S. anytime soon... Temptation won out and I got my fix (no hypodermic needles required)!

Here's the PDC in it's house.
[attachimg=#9]

And the BHC... What an outstanding tool!  (Second shot with the Festool SDS Bit pack that is also NAINA)
[attachimg=#10]
[attachimg=#11]

Then... after going round and round in my head... and repeatedly trying to talk myself out of it... I couldn't... I just simply couldn't. SO... I now have the full Conturo KA65 Edger Banding system with all accouterments available.  YIKES!! [eek]

Here's the main unit:
[attachimg=#12]
[attachimg=#13]

The accessory kit includes all the necessary equipment in addition to the base unit. Cutters, Trimmers, cassette, and even polish.
[attachimg=#14]

Also got the new Flush Trim Base for the MFK700 which is used in conjunction with the Conturo for trimming the banding. (I will buy the U.S. MFK700 after I'm back)
[attachimg=#15]

Next was the MFT/3 Tabletop with the template made for the Insert that allows the KA65 to edge band at angles. Directly replaces a stock MFT/3 Tabletop.
[attachimg=#16]

And of course the insert itself which comes separately and fits directly into the tabletop. (Stock Picture...mine is buried in a shipping box)
[attachimg=#22]

And finally, of course, there is the need for the Glue. So 96 Pucks later... in two shades....
[attachimg=#17]

Back to Cordless tools, my TS55REQ seemed lonely and needed a brother, so the TSC55 cordless tracksaw is heading to the USA. Came with two 18V 4.2A batteries and a 1400/2 Rail.
I got the saw,BHC, and PDC on the Germany Special Promo, so I end up with a total of six 18V batteries.

Here's the new saw
[attachimg=#18]

One can never have enough SORTAINERS.... and since the price for these is cheaper in Germany, I couldn't turn away from a few more!
[attachimg=#19]

And here the pile awaits the movers!  30-45 days from pack to delivery. Can't wait!
[attachimg=#20]

In addition to the big stuff above, I also purchased and either shipped or am carrying the following NAINA back.

3 - Attic Systainers for a FOG member who asked
1 - Festool Ratchet Set for a FOG member who asked
2 - Cleantec Wall Mounts for use with drill or hammer drill...one for a FOG member, and other for ME!
10 - Festool Toolies (Third load of these over the last year)  6-7 will be for sale.. the others will be gifts
10 - Festool Swiss Knives. (Also the second load of these)   Ditto on the above
2 - Festool Wood Drill Bit Sets
2 - Festool Metal Drill Bit Sets
9 - Festool logo 2-Meter folding rules
1 - VERY EXPENSIVE flush trim router bit for Edge Banding and the MFK700 ($180.00 bit.. YIKES!)

I'm sure there is more, but my head is spinning when I realize how much I've just spent!  Ah well... being a Festoholic is better than other "holic" options! [unsure]

Lots of other Made in Germany tools and smalls going home as well (like Chisels, Bits, and other things) But this is the Festool load!
Auf Wiedersehen to my friends at Wagner, my dealer. I know THEY will miss me...and my shekels! I will miss them as well. They went waaayyy out of the way to insure that I got all the pieces to this puzzle in time for my departure. Some items weren't expected for up to four weeks, but they came through.  Super Store!  Vielen Dank to Thomas and Ralf!

Next up... gotta get in on the Domino deal for a 500 and 700XL before the end of June!

Cheers,

Frank

Just in case this thread is confusing Newbies and/or Guests....

Wow!

You have some very happy hours ahead.

Like others, can't wait to see the completed shop.

Cheers,

Peter

Nice to see a man with a plan. I do wonder about the edge bander though. Do you have specific cabinets in mind where you will be using lots of laminate trim?

Ummm....errrr....ahhhh....welllll....not yet! [big grin]

The deal is that I am investing in what I call LifeLong tools. Basically outfitting with top-of-the-line tools that I don't ever expect to upgrade in my lifetime. We have a very strong income right now, so I am taking advantage of current prices, while I have the income, on everything I think I can potentially use now,and also into the future. I may not have much use for the Edge Bander in the near term, but it is an amazing machine, and things may change in the future...and if I wait, I am likely to see prices significantly higher, and at a time when my income may be much lower (into retirement). Inflation is almost assuredly going to raise its ugly head in the near future.

This philosophy is not limited to Festool items. It extends to other companies as well, like Felder/Hammer (A3-41), SawStop (5HP ICS), Laguna Italian Bandsaws (LT20 plus a Taiwan 14SUV), Powermatic Heavy Machines (3520B Lathe), and more.  All purchased after extensive research on durability, reputation, design, safety, and other factors.  We already own the house we will retire in, and it has a 1000SF garage... oops....mancave. No car will ever see the inside of that space, with the exception of a major hurricane that we have to evacuate from, and in that case, our sedan will be nestled amongst the WW machines which are all on mobility kits for that purpose while we evacuate in my Armada.

So, in answer to your original question, no I don't have a plan for the KA65 at the moment, but I imagine I will, especially once I'm retired from flying and spending ever more time in the shop. (And if the End of the World as we Know It happens, or the SHTF from whatever stimulus...then I will have a fully equipped and functional woodshop, powered by a 48KW Natural Gas/LPG genny, and Solar Power if necessary, that will allow me to barter effectively for myself and my family).

Cheers,
Frank

It's a long road to hoe!  I leave on Tuesday on the 200MPH high-speed rail for Paris, France. I spend the night in a hotel, then up early in the morning to catch my flight to Atlanta.

So, see.... I DO leave on the 4th!   [big grin]  Wifey and fruit of my loins leave Germany on the 26th. I'm going early to get things set up and my son registered for school.

I don't care about the dates... just get me home, one way or the other....but thanks for the poke! [tongue]

Cheers,
Frank

Frank, I have two words for you...

I'm jealous!

[crying] [crying] [crying]

Didn't even know you could do that with a sys vac

Good luck with the move

By the way I ordered a 10 pack of granat today lol

Frank,

Is the ratchet set for me?

Thanks,

Daniel

Daniel,

Unfortunately, no. Did I miss a request from you?  I just looked through all my PM's and didn't see one from you requesting the set.

For what it's worth, I was told that Festool is currently five to six weeks backordered on the ratchet set. The only reason I got one for a member here is that my dealer didn't realize he still had one in the warehouse.  They found it while getting the rest of my order together. I own the set, and I must say that I love it!  They should really have this little set in the U.S. [crying]

Sometime in the coming year, I may do an order with my German Dealer for smalls, which the ratchet set qualifies for. They have agreed to ship to me, but it will have to be a pretty substantial order in order to overcome shipping costs. I'll keep you in mind if I proceed with an order. 'K?  [big grin]

What are you crying about?  Your (3) Attic Systainers are going into the USPS tomorrow morning!
Geez!  You give a guy a bite, and he wants the whole darn pie! [tongue] [big grin]

By the way, I was surprised when I got my PDC. It came in one of the Attic Systainers!  Awesome. (The BHC didn't)

Cheers,
Frank

Frank,

I sent you a PM on September 17, 2013 and made the below reply on July 10, 2013. I can't believe that you forgot about me  :'(  All I ended up with was a toolie. I've been waiting all this time for nothing  [mad]
 I'm just messing with ya   [poke]
You can make it up to me by selling me one of those drills or that boom arm  [thumbs up]

I would seriously buy a ratchet set, toolie, and clock from you. Oh... and a TS75 CMS insert, if possible  Just tell me were to send the money. I am also wanting some pigtails, but I requested that on your other topic.

Thanks,

Daniel

Oops... [crying]

My guess is that there is a significant demand for the ratchet set. I'll plan to post an intent to purchase sometime in the coming months. I'll make sure you're included for the ratchet set when I do.  I CAN pretty much project a price of around $200.00 for the set using today's US$ vs. € exchange rate. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Deutchmark make a reappearance in the near future if the Eurosceptics have their way!

Sorry for the miss. Really.

Cheers,

Frank

were you able to get any attic lid inserts?

I'm not sure what the "inserts" are. But the answer would be no because, as I said, I don't know what the inserts are.
Do you have a Festool part number?

I DID buy three Attic Systainers for WOW, but not sure if that's what you meant?

Here's the Systainers: (They are available in sizes 1,2 and 3)
