Our contractor used Tendura on a second floor uncovered deck in contravention of the manufacturer's recommendations, so now it must be replaced because it is crumbling.  A lumber yard has recommended Azek porch, but because it has been on the market less than a year, I am wary about installing it.  Have you heard anything about using this product?  Remember the deck is  on the  second-floor, faces north and has a patio under it so regular planks with spacing cannot be used.  Thanks.

GraftonGirl,

Mike Chrest has a post in Member Projects where he used this material to reconstruct a porch.  I know he lives in Upstate New York so he is also faced with challenging weather.  I assume you are in Ohio.

Mike seems to be real craftsman and a very nice person, as reflected by the demeanor of his posts to this discussion group.

I know that he will have some constructive input.

I've used a ton of Azek trim and this summer I installed a porch floor with the new Azek flooring. It's PVC with flaxseed fibers to add additional strength. I can't comment on the long term but my first impressions are good.  A flooring nailer can be used but I decided to screw it down. I've had my This Azek job was to replace a failed Tendura porch. If you thought the Tendura was expensive wait until you see the price of the Azek. Check out this link were we discussed Azek trim and the flooring too. Azek trim and flooring, last reply in the thread is about the flooring.
