Bagless dust extraction

Hi, I have a Dewalt D27902 dust extractor and mostly it is used without a bag.
It can be used wet or dry.
It is very bulky and awkward on jobs and I am interested in getting the mini ct vac.
My question is can it be used as a bagless system?
The Dewalt vac although cumbersome has brilliant suction and will swallow heavy chippings as well as fine dust.
The filters are very pricey, over £50 sterling and the bags are pricey too.
Which is why I have used it now for about four years without inserting any bags.
To empty it,  I just pop off the motor top and pour the contents into a large refuse sack.
Not the most pleasant job but its quick and keeps all the dust out of clients house!
I always have dust mask about my kit and pop one on when I do this, especially with MDF dust.Another useful thing I have found with the Dewalt is I can store the hose within the vac for transport and have also used it to put large pieces of rubbish in when there has been no bin bags to hand.

It's not advisable to use the CT mini without a bag. You'll simply end up clogging the filter very quickly.

No offense, but if you don't want to spend money on the DeWalt bags & filters, you won't want to pay out for the Festool ones either.

Unless your like me and dont mind paying the initial high price but then don't like spending money for consumables all the time.

Sooo you could buy a CT and a reusable bag which are not cheap but in the long run will save you money and is no different to what your doing with your dewalt instead your just emptying a bag.

That what I did any bought a long life bag!

But he's talking about he CT Mini and that one doesn't have a reusable bag.

It is possible to use the CT's without a bag, but as JRB said, I think you'll be doing an awful lot of filter cleaning. But I haven't tried this out yet, I always use a bag, so I don't know how it is in practice.

I wasn't sure if it did or not couldnt be bothered to find out lol well he will just have to buy a CT22 from some where or CT26

Won't a CT22 bag fit in a mini? I know your not using the bag to the full potential but you will be using e mini to it's full capacity lol

[welcome]to the fog.
great to see another irish member on here.
dont know about using no bag. i have a ct22 and only use the bags. i have a reusable bag that i use most of the time and use disposable bags for messy stuff and when i am only sanding.

I used my Midi once without a bag......Finished up a project, pulled out the full bag walked outside and threw it away.  A week later I was using it and wondered why the suction was so poor?  What a mess.  I will never remove a bag again and not replace it immediately.

Haahaa I did the same thing!  Sooooooooooo annoying!
But I didn't actually really notice much suction loss on my CT22  I only noticed a change in sound after a while opened it up and it was almost full the filters where like two large MDF blocks!  I used another Vac to clean this vac and filtered. Works fine now

If your looking for quiet, powerful bag or no bag, grab a nilfisk alto attix 30 or the same vac , the Clarke CAV 10.

Nilfisk alto makes A lot of other companies vacs, probably the dewalt too! I even spotted a festool vac sold in the U.K. That looked to be made by them.
