Basement Stairway Cabinets

Finally finished these cabinets above my basement stairway. Couldn't find a picture of what it looked like before I started but is was basically a blank wall with a door narrow door the width of one stud cavity for access. Unfinished on the inside and poorly insulated. Knocked the pictured hole in, insulated and put some drywall in but didn't do any finishing as it is all unseen. Seemed like a good place to put a wall oven.

All soft maple used is from trees in my parents back yard. Didn't do a lot of wood editing so all the character flaws are left in. Counter top and lower door panels are maple, teak, black walnut and red oak that I was given. Sunburst panel is maple, cherry and teak. Lots of separate glue ups.

Regards,
Shane

My lord, that takes the checkerboard to another level.  Do you have any process picks of the lamination/glue up steps you used to arrive at that pattern?  Really, really marvelous work.  Did you do the spiral legs yourself?

Edward,

The legs are from Adams Wood Products.

I only have pictures of the 3D cube log glue up. Then when the the shorter segments of the cubes and triangles are glued into strips.

Thanks for the compliment,
Shane
