I have a Bluetooth 5.2 battery that I have not used for six months. I wanted to test a new recon purchase that did not come with batteries. I put the battery in my charger then took it out when the charger light turned green. I checked the indicator light on the battery and only the green light closest to the Bluetooth lit up. Battery still did not work. I put it back in the charger and it acted like it was charging again. Then the charger turns green, still no luck. Plugged it back in the charger, and it acts like it needs charging again. I tried a charged up battery and the tool work so think I have a battery not taking a charge properly.
My understanding is the batteries last longer if not stored fully charged so I stored this one without a full charge, and used other batteries. I did not run this battery completely out, I left part of a charge in it six months ago.
What do I need to do? This battery is less than 1 year old, so I assume it is covered by warranty. I am new to the Festool battery platform, having to give up on Porter Cable, and realize I may not be doing something right. I tried switching chargers but had the same problem so think it is the battery.
I will test some of my other batteries tomorrow. I have been sick, lost my sense of smell today and need to go to bed. My wife had Covid in early January so thought I missed that bullet then. Asking this question now will keep me from getting up in the middle of the night trying batteries when I need to be in bed. I would appreciate any pointers on what I need to do. Thanks
