It's been a bad morning folks, had tools stolen from site this morning.

Kapex mitre saw
Schneider sysmaster compressor
Bostitch 18g pin gun
Grex 23g pin gun
Cxs
Carvex
Makita Impact and combi drill in a sys 2

Just making people aware that if any of these tools appear on the usual sites in Ireland like done deal, gumtree or any car boot sales etc to let me know please.

Stealing a mans livelihood is one of the lowest acts. Hope they choke and die on their next meal ... vile dregs.

I am very sorry to hear about that. I hope you get them back ok.

Cliff

Really sorry to hear that mate. All my tools were stolen in April so I know your pain. Hope they're insured.

You can report the stolen tools to Festool and the tools serial numbers are kept on a database in case they ever get sent back to them.

Will keep an eye out but doubt they'll make it to the UK.

Good luck

Really really sorry to hear this it saddens and upsets me that this has happened I would do time if I caught him. Could you answer me this were the stolen out of you van

Sorry to hear about your loss. Ma I hate a thief. They have no reason to live and are breathing air a good man could be breathing

Thanks for the messages folks. The carvex and cxs are still covered by the 3 year theft warranty, just waiting on the police report that I need before I contact Festool. Unfortunately the kapex is out of warranty since April. I think/hope/pray that I'm covered by the company insurance for the rest of the gear that was stolen, I should hear back about that tomorrow. No it was taken from the house I was working at, I hardly ever leave any gear on site but parking was a nightmare for this job and I was parked a long way away, and as the house was pretty much finished with real good high quality doors and windows all locked at night and the entrance to the site all locked up I thought everything would be more than safe. There was a lot of Miele appliances delivered to site and sat in the house for weeks without any doors or windows and they never got touched so I got myself lulled into a false sense of security regarding the safety of my tools. I'm glad I didn't have more of my gear in as I have pretty much a full Festool collection. They took a crow bar to a set of double doors leading into the basement and made a real mess of the doors getting in.

So sad, I'm sorry to hear about that.

Low lifes.  Just about every site I go to these days, mostly big sites, theft is prevalent.  They even have posters warning you of theft and to beware.  I have looked into insurance before but like most insurance the insurance companies never want to give you the cover that you want or need, there always seems to be a get out clause or when I looked into it recently they would take the purchase value of my tool, deduct 30% (I think) of it's value after 12 months and then a further 10% every year there after so if someone stole let's say a CXS and I put it through the insurance I would get about £126 back due to the age of the tool.  What's the point in having insurance then?  I'd still need to stump up a fair amount of money to replace said tool.

It's never good having anything stolen, when it's tools for work, it's even harder to stomach.

Feel for you bud.

I feel for you pal, This is the only downside to owning quality tools, worrying more about getting them stolen, either from the van or on site.
I always used to leave my old miter saws on site if I thought it was safe, saves alot of hassle packing it up and then setting it up again, since I switched over to Festool more hassle at the end of the day packing everything away.
I hope you get things sorted out soon.
