Can anyone tell me why the lower long front rail is 3-inches thick while the lower long rear rail is only 1-3/4 inches thick?
I sent an email to BC about this a few days back, but have not heard back from them so thought someone here could solve this puzzle.
The deadman is only 1-7/16 inch thick and rides on the front half of the lower long front rail which is what made me wonder why this rail has to be so thick.
For the sake of clarity, my bench will not utilize any of the BC vises. However, I have been over the BC plans and do not see how any of the vises require this stout of a rail, but I could have overlooked some detail.
