i recently suggested these benchs to a longstanding and reliable u.k. tool importer/seller,he rang to-day to let me know that he will have them in stock in about a month,he would be keen to know which package u.k. users would be most interested in,i.e starter, shop or pro,he was unable to give a price at this stage, anyone else this side of the pond interested?

If the price isn't bad I'll be interested!

You see I never use my mft table or my kapex mft table they are both stored away.  I'm hoping and I think I will use them once I got my workshop  but for site work the mft table is way to heavy and way to small it's pretty useless for cutting up 8x4 sheets. Once you have cut your sheets down to smaller sizes then the mft works well but on a job I'm not setting up two benches to cut one sheet down so I never bother with the mft.  Now the benchmark looks more like a all rounder for these job sites.

So if it's not to heavy and the cost isn't to high I think it's a good mft replacement for job site.  All I do on jobs at the moment is carry 2 or 3 trestles and bang a sheet of plywood and I got my bench and I can leave them set up cus I don't care but I wouldn't leave my mft table set up out side for the next day but I hate packing the heavy thing up.    The benchmark looks like a bench you can leave set up with out worrying about rain but even if I had to pack it up it looks a lot lighter.

unfortunately it seems that these will not now be available here,i contacted the guy but he said that he couldn't get them at a price to give him even a small margin of profit,he said he would try to negotiate with them (benchmark) one more time but there is only a slim chance now of getting them,i would have thought benchmark would be keen to get a foothold in the european market given the numbers of track saw users of all brands here,i would certainly have bought one,i'm disappointed.

how about a walko jmb. almost perfect for site. i use mine all the time for ripping 8x4s . only problem is that it is on the ground. pity there arnt fold out legs like the dewalt chop saw stand

I did think about it but its not light is it?!

and its something like a MFT table again aint it with a wooden top.

I just want something dead simple and light but still sturdy enough I can throw about dont have to worry about it as its just a simple bench you can bang a 8x4 sheet on.  I can leave it out in the rain, sun, snow, hail  and dont have to worry about it getting damaged by the weather.

If it falls over I dont care might give it a kick my self while its down cus im angry it fell over lol  [tongue]

This bench seems the bench to do all this with.  I would only get the basic  like I said just want it simple don't want all the accessories cus im going back to square one again then

We made one up about 5 wks ago out of ply mdf & 4 x 2 pse, as a 1st go knocked up quick it works gr8, save your money & knock 1 up yourself & you can add or tweek it yourself as time goes on  [eek]

I asked benchmark about shipping over here ages ago when they first came out and they weren't interested at all. Stupid really as I reckon they would sell loads here.

what do you think it would cost to ship one over from the USA ? also would a retailer require a large number of orders over here to be of interest, i may ask my friend in the USA to enquire about the shipping costs and taxes etc , after seeing kregg using one i have to at least try to get a hold of one as carrying the mft 3 around is to much hard work and unless i can employ the services of that big German guy who does the mft3 video for festool its back to my six saw horses and the 8x4 ply.

Well I have bought few things from the USA! The delivery and import tax hammer you!  It does make the product you are buying a lot more expensive!

I can't see why a dealer won't sell the bench to you or me.

its the shipping and import taxs that kill the deal.
it is often cheaper to buy the more expensive version here. if there is one.

they should ship it over..

why dont a few get together and buy together ,then ship by boat across. it takes a long time but is cheaper
