Bessey Clamps

Don't know if they would work on an MFT, but the amazing thing is that they are actually MORE EXPENSIVE than the Festool equivalent!

I noticed that AFTER I sent the message.    I just assumed that they would be cheaper than Festool.

Because of the offset on the lower jaw, they will only work on the out side row of holes. The 8 inch models works on 2 rows and the 12 on 3 rows.

I have done a review on a different model of them that is cheaper than the Festool.

I dont know if you knew, but bessey made the clamps for festool, when the clamps first came out the still said bessey on them, thats why the quick action clamps look the same

I have to start out by saying I'm one of those people that probably spends too much time searching and figuring out how to save money to the point I probably end up loosing money because  I spend so much time looking for the optimal (not always cheapest) purchase.  When it comes to Festool clamps I've yet really find cheaper clamps that are even close to as functionally equivalent to the Festool clamps.  This is assuming you're using the MFT approach of course.  I looked and looked for a substitute to the Clamping Elements.  Nothing I could find came close their ease of use on the table.  I cringed when I bought them but I'm very happy with the purchase in retrospect.

(That alignment jig is still the exception)

I love my clamping elements. Wish they were cheaper but I would buy them again if they got snatched.

These will not fit anywhere on the MFT but are really quick to use and pretty inexpensive. I have about a dozen and use them a lot. Clamping speed record is held buy these guys. ;D

Second favorite are these guys. If you take the red pads off they approximate parallel jaw clamps at half the weight.

A little slower to use but with more clamping force.

These last ones are tricky to use. To get them to slide freely you have to put your thumb right on the clutch. I don't have any of the heavy duty parallel jaw clamps. I just put more of the light ones closer together ;D.

I think the posted clamping pressure numbers are wrong. I definitely get more glue squeeze out with the UniKlamps.

Talk about timely

I'm having tennis elbow issues and really notice it when tightening clamps(I'm a cabinet maker-I tighten lots of clamps).

Was at my friends metal shop the other day and noticed his bessy ratcheting quick clamps. These little clamps have serious force, and they are bessys so quality is assured.

Any ways I now want at least a set or two, and after shopping around yes the festool version is cheaper than the ones my friend had, but there is a lighter duty version that is cheaper.

I'm going to order some now thants mike for the link.

If you watch close Amazon sells boxes of 4 at discounted rates. I purchased 6 boxes of 4 when at one point they were only 31.99 for 4 clamps! Right now 69.99 but the price changes daily.

Thanks a lot, now I have to watch amazon every day to get that deal.

Thanks for the heads up though.

I'll keep an eye out I have that page pop up when I click on Amazon and I check everyday, so when the deal comes back I will post it.

I still have two boxes I have not even opened!

If you add the items that you want to keep an eye on in your cart, each time you look at your cart, it will tell you if there were any price decreases/increases.

Thanks for the tip!  I didn't know about this feature.  OK, I guess it's not quite a feature level technique. Wonder if I will loose mine because I flush my cookies (there's a joke in there somewhere) so often.  I'll let people know if amazon keeps this info on their site or on our computers.
