Got 4 each of the 40" and 24" clamps at Lowes this weekend. Not sure if they're the same price everywhere, but I got the 40"ers for $36 and the 24"ers for $28. Compared to Rockler, I save about $180.

Hope someone else can find the same deal!

Do they show on the website, or do you have to go to a store to see if they have them?

I tried to find them on their website and couldn't.  If you want to call the store to see if they have any in stock the item numbers are:

24" - 31564
40" - 24813

They do have the ability to check the inventory of other stores, so if you have a helpful person on the other end of the line you could save yourself some phone calls.

They dropped off the online system last week, so there's no way to check inventory without visiting.

I believe that Lowes lost the Bessey stuff and those will be at Home Depot now.

The system at Lowes is weird. The lowest I saw the k bodies was 40% off what Lowes was selling them for. So around 30 for 50 inch and 22 or so for a 24. But not every store went that low.  So if there is inventory left, it will be at the last price at that store, which could be as little as 10% off.

At some point, they should go "non stock" with some better mark downs. My store still has a couple of the 24 and 40 left. There are also a bunch of the f style clamps and other stuff.

Most of the managers should know that those are going away. You might be able to make a deal on some.

I bought some of the 24 inch tradesman clamps last week.  One store had them reduced from $28+ down to $14+.  They only had two so I bought those and went to another store later and they had two of the same for $24+ each.  I grabbed those two and went to pay.  They refused to honor the price I had paid previously - I had the receipt - so I went to customer service.  I asked them about price matching and the additional off if I found something cheaper at Home Depot.  They said that they would do that.  I handed them the receipt  and she was confused.  I asked her to price match another Lowes store and I didn't want the additional 10%.  She saw my logic and did it.  I then paid with my Lowes card and enjoyed the 5% discount I get for using that.

I picked up a pair of the LHS-10s the Wood Handscrew Clamps.  I didn't really have a need for them but they were marked down to about $10/ea.  I couldn't pass that up since they go for almost $30/ea. everywhere else.

I also managed to pick up a pair of their 24" K-Body Revos at under $40/ea.

So, I wonder what's going to happen to Jorgensen when Bessey moves into Home Depot?

Home Depot has a few Bessey items in stock, mostly the vice line that Lowes has/had.  They do have, in my area anyway the 90-Degree WS-3 with the new 2K handle and it's packaged with the Revo Table Clamp accessory.  All of this for $20, the Revo table clamp accessory goes for $7.50 anywhere else.

Lowes seems to be discontinuing Bessey but the pricing has moved UP and down at my 7 local stores. I noticed one store had dropped the 4" zinc clamps to $3.49. After I bought half their stock, they were back up to $4.99. Every store is different and they no longer show most Bessey online so you can't check your local store.

In this area most of them are pretty well cleaned out that are a great deal. Most of the remaining Revos have pads missing or have damaged corners from being mishandled. Most of the remaining German Tradesman clamps are missing pads or worse. They seem to have plenty of the Chinese Clutch Style Clamps, which are pretty sad compared to Jorgensen.

Jorgensen disappeared from Home Depots in this area at the beginning of the year. No sales, just seemed to be gone one day. Replaced by Irwin, which is a big step down. Jorgensen still list HD as a dealer. Jorgensen (Adjustable Clamp Company) seems to be sold and I think they are moving production to China. They are now Pony Tools Inc.

I would stop and check at any Lowes you pass by but doubt it is worth a special trip.

The Lowes around here have LOTS of Bessey vices. They are junk. Bessey just announced an Industrial vice, which looks like Ridgid's F-series, made in Germany. I prefer Heuer but they are expensive.

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!  I live in Chicago and didn't hear about this at all.  [eek] [eek] [eek]

Thanks for the tip.  Checked my 3 local Lowe's and got 4-24" 2-40" and 2-50" at unbelievable prices.

I have been waiting for the tradesman clamps to drop below the 20% discount I saw last time.  Maybe my local lowes has done that, time to check it out...

Managed to snag 4 - 40's & 4 - 50's for about $25 more than I recently sold my K3's for.  Not a bad trade up.  ;D  Too bad they didn't have more and also have the 24's.  [sad]

Now just need to wait for the next 'sale' like last August. [thumbs up]

All of the Bessey's are OOS at any store near me...

I went by a couple of stores close to my normal travels today. They didn't have much of interest left and it wasn't radically discounted though the tags said, "Closeout".

One had better prices than the other on the same things. They seemed to be out of most of what I would consider "woodworking clamps". They had a lot of other products left though, just not what I was hoping to find.

As Peter noted, they were both picked over pretty hard but there were a few "finds".

I got a couple of the XCR-4PC, which is a 4-piece set of small ratcheting clamps. I don't think they are a great deal at $5 - $10 off, depending on where you shop. I got these for about $3 each clamp. However, I happen to have an ongoing project where they will be very handy.

If anyone out there knows of any negatives about these little clamps, I'd appreciate a warning. I'm seriously thinking about going back tomorrow and cleaning them out of them. They look pretty cool and feel great in my hand.

Feel better in your hand than the Irwins. Seem slike the metal teeth would hold up better.

BUT, they seem to wear out just as fast and flex just as much.

They are worth $3 but not much more. I couldn't resist a couple 4 packs at $8.98.

I noticed this at Grizzly: http://www.grizzly.com/products/Tradesman-Clamp-Kit/H5115

That's 30 tradesman clamps for $340, or $11.33 each.  That seems like a great deal.

All tradesman clamps are not made in Germany. Some of them are made in China. Maybe they are the same quality, but I passed on the China ones and picked the German ones.
I agree with Vkumar. I Don't know if those are made in China or not. Bessey seems to be moving that direction with a lot of products. I'm afraid they will all be Chinese at some point so I don't mind stocking up now with German made clamps.

Those ones from Grizzly ARE the light duty 2.5" throat clamps. The Tradesman clamps that Lowes is closing out are the medium duty 4"x12", 4"x24", and 4.5"x40" clamps. All the ones I've seen were made in Germany.
