Look into Multiblades.com.  Good blades at reasonable price.  They also make the Kapex connector for sawhelper extentions.  Been using them for years.

Of the three types I've used, imperial are the most durable, at least when it comes to cutting nails and screws to remove trim, moldings, and siding.

I've tried the imperial blades and found them to be too thick. They smoke and burn a lot. I like them for rough cuts because they are really durable but the Fein brand E-cut blades give a much cleaner cut. Amazon usually sells 10 packs for around $75 and I've seen then as low as $50.

I am still using Fein blades.  I tried a few of the Imperial brand but just liked the Fein better.  I usually try to pick up the Feins when there is a special sale.  I certainly am glad to see the prices trending downward.

I've got no complaint about the Fein blades performance, just the price. I assumed (perhaps wrongly) the OP was looking for brands other than Fein

I use the diamond segmented blades and had a local company make them for me. I buy 10 at a time at about half Fein prices.
Timber blades I use Fein. Can't find a half decent alternative here in Oz. (AU)... But the Fein prices hurt like belting your thumb with a 20oz framer.

As you are in Australia, give the WSE versions a try, I don't think they are available in the US but the Festool distributor for your neck of the woods imports WSE blades and adaptors.

@ John Bates

Yes John, now you mention it I have seen the WSE adapters, etc on the website.
I just hadn't joined the dots... Thx for the heads up...

Typical bloke shopping with 'blinkers' on...

Yea it's hard beat the fine blades. Here in Ireland the the cheaper copy of the fine blade but there crap very smokey.. I no the fine is that little more pricey but better for some jobs..

I represent WSE over here and don't see the benefit of using "cheap" or inferior quality blades on good quality tools. Would you buy poor quality blades for your TS55 or Kapex?
Get the best you can if you want good results. Sermon over.

We've been using Multiblades for years.

I use Bosch blades,i find them just as good as the Fein(but i suppose it depends on what you are using them for),but they`re half the price,i usually use standard blades,as they cut through wood better than the bi metal, the down side is if you accidentely hit a nail, the blade`s knackered,no matter how much you paid for it,i`ve tried others, but most of them are too thick,so if you are trying to cut against something, they tend to want to bounce about a bit

Has anyone tried the new Bosch carbide tipped blade? According to the link below they've been available since June 1, although I haven't found anyone carrying them...

Bosch OSC114C
