I'm about to build a MFT inspired assembly/outfeed table and I have a few of questions:

1). What type of finish should one use for the top?  It is going to be built out of 19mm moisture resistant MDF,

2). I am going to be drilling holes into it.  And I was wondering if I should apply the finish before I drill the holes?

4). Should any type of finish be applied to the holes themselves?

Any comments would be welcome.

I use Osmo clear satin finish on mft and work bench. Not only does it water proof it but any pva or polyurethane glue that spills on it peels off once dry

I used some linseed and Tung on mine.
Later I used some Surfix on some parts and removed the excess onto the MFT.

If I was using Osmo then it would have that on it. Surprisingly it has not been baptised with beer... But I am more careful with beer than with Surfix.
