Best Miter saw options?

I love my festools - and I didn't really see myself investing in a miter saw with my MFT/3 and TSC55 - but I will have some projects in the future that will involve trimming molding/etc and I just don't see getting around having a miter saw.

With all the horror stories about the Kapex, I'm thinking of looking outside of Festool.  The only thing is - I have a small basement workshop and the dust collection is 99% of why I went with Festool in the first place.  Any recommendations about a miter saw that would at least come close to the Kapex in that regard?

Just for reference - I have a MIDI for my dust collection - so I'm aware I will probably need a 36mm hose for that anyway.  If I could also find a saw that would hook up to this - that would be excellent. 
 
Makita has a new 10" slider coming out soon  LS1019L

I have no experience with it but have read a few reviews and it has some nice
features..  Good dust collection is one of them.  I'm getting one as soon as
they are available in my area.
 
Milwaukee's 12" slider has pretty darn good dust collection.

Problem is though, it's not available many places to tryout.
It's big and heavy, so not really a good jobsite saw.
The vac connection takes up even more space, must be purchased separate, and will need some adapters or tape to mate to a Festool hose.  Simpler to just buy/make a dedicated 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" hose for the setup. 

It's a powerful beast at 15a too.
 
Dewalt Flexvolt 12" SCMS (DHS790AT2). You won't be disappointed.

I am seriously considering this as well. Its now on their website as available, but not at any of their retailers. So patience I guess.
 
The new makita looks good in the demo video, but until you can see it first hand it's hard to judge. I've just jumped into the kapex world as I couldn't wait for the makita to be released here in Australia. Time will tell if I've made the right decision.  [scared]

I have the new Makita arriving Monday. Ordered from Acme as well. My first Kapex will get boxed up and sent back for a bad head spring. Helper uses the new Kapex and I get to play with a new toy for a week. The we'll see... Either old Kapex or new Makita becomes shop saw.

Wait for AcmeTools to do one of their 15-20% off coupons. They do them a couple times a year and they send them to their email subscribers.
 
I've been thinking about selling my current miter saw and upgrading to a Bosch Glide (12") for the shop. For those of you who have that saw, what are your thoughts after prolonged use?

I think the way they've engineered the saw for tight space operation is pretty neat, but I think one must be very careful when handling the saw so as not to put too much stress on the points of articulation.  I really don't see this saw as being a good portable option.  I think over time the points of articulation are going to get sloppy.
 
I've had the Bosch 12" Glide for about 3 years now with no problems. It is in a dedicated bench in the shop with built in dust collection. No problems with the saw whatsoever, other than it's own internal dust collection is just average.

If I was wanting a portable saw would definitely get a Makita. They make the best motors, are relatively light in weight, and are well regarded for accuracy.

My brother in law is a general contractor who just bought a Makita to replace his ancient Makita. We shopped various brands. He briefly considered the DeWalt. Framers love it because it has slightly larger capacity and is virtually indestructible, but he went with Makita because he does more trim work than framing.
 
Just to put in perspective how expensive the kapex is and how much of a sacrifice it is for woodworkers to buy the new makita ls1019l is $510 and the Milwaukee 3724 is $600. The dewalt dhs790 kit is on sale at for $440. The Milwaukee can be had for less if you dig. The kapex is almost as expensive as all 3 saws combined. I actually could accept this if it was really all that, but the carpal tunnel trigger, launching of small pieces, lack of power, and there is that pesky motor issue.
