I’m getting a track saw and was hoping for some recommendations for the best online retailer to buy from?

There is also a local sherwin Williams and and a woodcraft store

What’s the best route?

Actually Rockler and woodcraft are 1 mile from each other near my work

The price you pay will be the same regardless. If the local shops have what you want and you want to support them, then by all means, just go pick it up. For online, I use Toolnut.com for my Festool purchases. "Back in the day", I bought all of my Festool products from an independent seller, Bob Marino, at least until he retired.

Thanks Jim. A lot of the online retailers offer warranty. Is that even needed considering festool 3 years of warranty?

If you are also buying a rail, factor in the risk of delivery damaging the rail.  If you buy from a brick and mortar store, you can inspect it there. I buy online because I am 90 minutes from the closest store.  If you have a nearby store and they are decent, I would lean that direction.

I bought my Kapex online and would never do that again.  That box was beat to death with holes in it and parts rattling around loose.  That box is big and off-balance, and I think someone took their frustrations out on it.  But I have bought a lot on-line with no problem.

If you are buying a rail, be aware they have package deals that are cheaper.

If they stock sandpaper and vacuum bags, I'd buy from either one of them. There isn't any price difference between online and B&M, and convenient access to parts and supplies is a major value-add for Festool that goes unsung far too often.

Ya rockler near me has one in stock just the tool but they will price match the rail combo price so I’ll go that route. It’ll be nice to have a local dealer for blades and such

Back in the day. Yes Jim, the good old days. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss them.

Capitalize while you can. The government keeps lassoing more companies into the program. My dealer got roped in just after I dropped some coin for 8" Jointer. For any big purchases now I just roll to Delaware and have planned trips around a stop. There is a mall right near the MD border that I would categorize as a mall for out of staters.

All is well, thanks. My daughter just graduated college. I ask myself "where did the time go?"

Dude,  you are truly missed. Should you wander in this direction at any time, lunch, beverages and a look at the new shop are on me. Really, it would be nice to see you again. On the family thing...my youngest just got engaged. College was the easy part! LOL

Rob, the Festool Recon shop might be worth a look.
https://www.festoolrecon.com/

They have a number of TSC 55's listed at present.

I purchased a couple sanders through the Recon site and had a good experience with both. The warranty is one year, versus the three year warranty for brand new, retail machines.

Best,
Jeff

True about the engagement. I may just take you up on your offer this summer when my knee heels up.

Personally...I've had a much better relationship with the local Woodcraft than the local Rockler store. The Woodcraft folks have much broader product knowledge on Festool equipment.

Try it yourself, ask both of them some questions and see which is better versed in Festool product knowledge.

after Bob Marino retired and Tom Belemare passed (RIP Tom) I buy from whatever is the most convenient. Usually Anderson ply or Amazon. The local B&M places here are at least a hour drive each way

Please do. It would be great to catch up!

Ryan and the crew at US Tool and Fastener are phenomenal to work with, super fast shipping and extremely knowledgeable.
