Best sliding table saws

I've heard of jigs people using to get over the 79" rip. Is doing this actually a safe, reliable and repeatable operation or is it bullocks?

The shortest slider I have owned was 2.8m so I haven't had the need to research this nor have I heard of any of these jigs.  Regardless, the laws of physics cannot be changed - if you get a mass of sufficient weight and on a moment arm of sufficient length, you can tip a machine unless it is bolted to the floor.  You always have the option of ripping in a conventional fashion even if not using the sliding table to straight line.

The K3 Winner  video (I'm pretty sure)  shows  that  its possible  to  use a  sled below  the plank being sawn to extend the sliding  distance.
At 350kg  its unlikely  to topple over.

My  C331 Perform  weighs  780kg.  So  it would  require  quite a large tree  trunk to topple it.

So I am definitely having interest in the minimal elite 8.5' sliding saw. I wish they had more info on them on their website. I gave my info to them so hopefully I get a sales man to call and answer my questions. The only thing I can see from he pictures (which I could be wrong) is they don't seem to have he shoe in the front for dimensional lumber. However, hopefully like the other sliding saws I have seen it is just not shown on he machjne since it's an added accessory. This would be a deal breaker since that is my main purpose for the saw is straight lining dimensional lumber.
New MiniMax and SCM sliders all come with a shoe for solid lumber. Either of the 8.5' S315 or SC4 Elite should be available as single phase.

Email Erik Loza at SCM for pricing: eloza@scmgroup.com

I'm just gonna go with the saw. The spindle is a nice extra but when I get my shop I will have more than enough space to have a shaper. My problem right now is cash and the machinery I still really want to make my shop more efficient.

Ultimately a dedicated spindle moulder with a power feed would be awesome. If you're doing production style work I can see it making sense.

So I have set my sights on the Hammer k3 winner 79x48. The price point is unbeatable for the saw and it leaves me room to also buy there 17" bandsaw. Also with the purchase I will be buying the Hammers 1,300 cfm 140 mm dust collector soley to run for the saw. Now I just have to wait for my shop space to open up and I will be placing a very exciting order.

Congratulations on the upcoming purchase!  Sounds like you've done your research and will be looking forward to hands-on reports on what looks like a great machine.
I just got an email from Felder--you might have gotten the same thing--but for those that didn't:  Felder just announced a 30% off sale this week only on their bandsaws in stock, including the Hammers.  In case anyone is getting ready to pull the trigger on one, it sounds like a great deal.
