Better Vaccuum Hose Connectors

The subject heading says most of it. The Dust Collector hoses, both large and small, rely on both ends for a friction fit. They rarely pull off the vacuum itself, but they often disconnect in mid-operation from the Rotex or the TS55, spewing dust all over the place. If the cords unplugged that easily, everyone would think it was a defect. It would be a little tricky, as both the hose ends and the receptor on the tool would presumably have to be redesigned, and they'd need to make upgrade kits for all of their tools out there (quite a market!), but I would buy immediately (well, after I saw a review or two that the new system works).

Pretty sure there is a tool end upgrade making its way though Europe, but these have not reached N America yet. This is a locking hose connector for the tool end of the hose, (and a corresponding end for the tool of course). Maybe TylerC can give us an update for N American release:

Hmmm, I could have my Rotex 150 hang from the 27mm hose connector it is that secure. I can not speak for the track saw but I would encourage you to take a look and see that your hose connection is pushed all the way over the retaining rings on the tool(s) vacuum fitting. The only time I had a mishap like you described is when I did not push the hose connector all the way onto the tool fitting.

Odd, this has not happened a single time to me in 8 years with either of these tools.

It does happen often with the DTS400/RTS/ETS125 sanders, and the DX93, but they have considerably shorter dust ports.

Anyway, the new locking connectors already exist, and will probably soon be available in America also.

Edit: I have replaced one connector of a 27mm hose once, because it was so old and worn it wouldn't hold anything properly anymore. The new one held as tight as it should.

We are already starting to see hoses with this style of end, but have yet to see a tool port that they will lock with.

My ETS EC 150/5 I received today has the new connector on the tool and a new end for the 27mm hose.

Do they only lock on the outside or also on the inside?

Hi Alex,

Sorry - I missed your question.  The new D27 hose ends lock onto the outside of the small D27 (sander, Domino, etc) ports, and from what we have seen, the inside of the track saw angle adapters.  We haven't seen any D36 locking ends yet.

For those wondering, the new Cleantec connectors are available in the United States as well. However, it does seem to be only on select tools for the time being.

This would be incredibly helpful to have on the Kapex. I have had a number of times where the hose (27mm) has fallen off the Kapex creating a mess. Not sure if this happens less with the 36mm though.

[member=54899]Matthew Lennon[/member]  Where can I buy the adapter (vendor) or what are the Part Numbers for the TS55 and the D27 hose?

The Angle Adapter for the Track Saws is part number 202096.

While the new locking D27 hose reducing sleeves are coming with new tools with the locking dust ports, we are also seeing them on new D27 hoses (same part number).  As far as I know, the reducing sleeve is not available on its own currently - the sleeve included with new tools is packaged in a box that says "Not for resale".
